Mount Eden
Mount Eden / Maungawhau A volcanic cone offering breathtaking 360° views over the city and harbour. A culturally significant Māori site with historical remnants.
North Head (Māori: Maungauika; officially Maungauika and sometimes referred to as Maungauika / North Head)[1][2][3] is a volcano and Tūpuna Maunga (ancestral mountain) forming a headland at the east end of the Waitematā Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand, in the suburb of Devonport.[4] Known for its sweeping views over the harbour and the Hauraki Gulf, since 1885 the head was mainly used by the military as a coastal defence installation, which left a network of accessible old bunkers and tunnels as its legacy, forming part of the attraction. The site was protected as part of Hauraki Gulf Maritime Park in 1972[5] and listed as a Category I historic place in 2001.[6] As part of a 2014 Treaty of Waitangi claim settlement the volcanic cone was officially named Maungauika and the reserve unofficially renamed Maungauika / North Head Historic Reserve.

Hotel pick-up did not happen so no tour and no refund.

1.00We had requested hotel pick-up. No van showed up. When I contacted the tour company, they said it was because I did not reply to their phone call the night before. We had no missed calls on our phone (plus it was an out of country number). They said NO refund but did offer to take us on the tour the next day - which would have meant we would miss our connection for the next segment of our vacation travels. So we paid for a tour that we did not get plus had the fun of waiting in the lobby of our hotel for 2+ hours for nothing.

5.00I asked for an amended city tour as I wanted to see Auckland lit up at Christmas time. It turns out this city decorates a lot less than in the states; but Krish took us to the few decorated locations there are and he parked at several spots so we could get out and take pictures, even offering to take pictures of us with the lights in the background. For two jet lagged clients, his tour was exactly what we ordered.

5.00Lots of fun. Knowledgeable and flexible guide. He will take you wherever you want to go so it’s a good idea to have an itinerary in mind. And he can take you up Mt Eden in his minibus—taxis can do this—which saves an exhausting slog by foot.
