Discover Etna and its wonders on this guided half-day tour from Catania with the most followed team on Instagram @red.etna.

We will explore a lava cave and discover the legends surrounding it.

During our trek we will reach the top of a series of extinct craters and from there enjoy breathtaking views of the volcano and the coast.

Together we will discover the history of the volcano, its peculiarities and observe how its landscape has changed according to the flows that have shaped it.

- This activity does not include the visit or the trek up to Summits Craters (if interested in this tour, please contact us)

- This tour will take place rain or shine.

- In the presence of adverse weather conditions, unforeseen events or if the guide deems it appropriate, the itinerary may vary.

- The trekking part is easy and conducted on foot; there is no use of the cable car and we will reach around 1700-2000 meters.

- During the tour we use 6-seater and a 8-seater vehicles.

What To Expect

Mount Etna

We will be able to appreciate the extraordinary beauty of Etna. You will see ancient lava flows, a lava cave and reach an altitude of 1,700 metres for spectacular views. Note: The remaining time is for the round tour and time spent sightseeing or explorations.

Very nice excursion perfectly in line with what was announced. The weather was overcast and it was nevertheless very beautiful.Even more we really loved our guide Marco: attentive and passionate, he knows how to transmit his love of places. A sense of humor, too. I would have liked to stay several days to explore the different landscapes (favorite for the pine forest and the wooden cottage), but we only had a few hours left before returning.

Our guide Francesco was excellent. He was highly knowledgeable about history, the region, the country. He also gave us a good understanding of the culture. He explained in detail about the volcano’s formation and current status. We had a very pleasant experience. He was professional and made sure everyone was taken care of. I highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful day excursion to Mount Etna with our guide Leonardo. Our am pickup was right in time and only minutes from our accommodation. Our van was very comfortable but it was sometimes difficult to hear Leonardo’s descriptions if you were sitting in the back of the van and the street was very bumpy. The stops were amazing, including our walk through the lava cave and around the base of “Momma Etna”. The Etna wine and cookie were a nice surprise at the end of our walk. Leonardo was happy to answer all of our questions, no matter how weird. I highly recommend Leonardo and this tour.
