Discover Etna and its wonders on this guided half-day tour from Catania with the most followed team on Instagram @red.etna.
We will explore a lava cave and discover the legends surrounding it.
During our trek we will reach the top of a series of extinct craters and from there enjoy breathtaking views of the volcano and the coast.
Together we will discover the history of the volcano, its peculiarities and observe how its landscape has changed according to the flows that have shaped it.
- This activity does not include the visit or the trek up to Summits Craters (if interested in this tour, please contact us)
- This tour will take place rain or shine.
- In the presence of adverse weather conditions, unforeseen events or if the guide deems it appropriate, the itinerary may vary.
- The trekking part is easy and conducted on foot; there is no use of the cable car and we will reach around 1700-2000 meters.
- During the tour we use 6-seater and a 8-seater vehicles.

What To Expect
Mount Etna
We will be able to appreciate the extraordinary beauty of Etna. You will see ancient lava flows, a lava cave and reach an altitude of 1,700 metres for spectacular views. Note: The remaining time is for the round tour and time spent sightseeing or explorations.

5.00Amazing sunset hike of Etna with an incredibly knowledgeable guide. We stopped at several spots on the way up the mountain, explored an amazing lava tube, and did about a 2 mile out and back hike to catch the most amazing sunset. The guide, Francesco taught us not only about the volcano itself, but also about Sicily and Catania, its people, its history, and languages. He also knew so much about the local flora. Truly an incredible experience.

5.00Etna Tour and Wine tasting. Had assumed for the price paid we would be part of a bigger tour on a coach etc. So delighted that our tour was our own personal guide, Francesco, who picked us up and provided fabulous information and company throughout the day. Not only, as a qualified biologist, did he have many interesting facts about the volcano but also wonderful information on the Sicilian language and local tales/mythology. He was the perfect host and we really got the most of our Etna tour in a comfortable environment and benefiting from a beautifully clear day. The wine tasting at Gambino also surpassed expectations. Private table for two, 4 courses of delicious food, stunning location, lots of wine to try over lunch with zero pressure sales. Overall a wonderful day that I would highly recommend.

5.00Very nice excursion perfectly in line with what was announced. The weather was overcast and it was nevertheless very beautiful.Even more we really loved our guide Marco: attentive and passionate, he knows how to transmit his love of places. A sense of humor, too. I would have liked to stay several days to explore the different landscapes (favorite for the pine forest and the wooden cottage), but we only had a few hours left before returning.

5.00Do it! A unique opportunity to witness Mt. Etna and the lava tubes. Francisco was passionate about the volcano and the Catania area. We learned so much in the five hours we spent with him!
