Meeting of Waters
Our day starts at 7am when we pick you up from your hotel in Manaus. We head to the Ceasa Port where you will board a speedboat along the Rio Negro. As we navigate the waters, the first stop on the trip is the floating village of Catalão. Here we will visit a fish farm where you can see the Giant Arapaima Gigas, the largest scaled fish in the world. You will be able to feed them and feel how strong they are! After visiting the fish farm, we proceed by speedboat to the meeting of the waters. Here the Rio Negro and the Solimões River meet but don’t mix. Afterward, we continue along the river to the Careiro village. From there we will continue by road for about an hour to Maçarico lake. The final leg is by speedboat and you will arrive at the lodge at about 11:30 am. At noon, delicious local cuisine will be served for lunch.
At 3:00 pm, we will head out on a canoe trip. On this trip, you’ll see the world-famous Amazon Pink River Dolphin, as well as an array of colorful birds. We’ll also get a chance to do some piranha fishing. We’ll stay out on the water until about 6:30 pm when we’ll watch the beautiful sunset, and at 7 pm we’ll return to the lodge for dinner. We head back on the waters at 8:30 pm in search of the fearsome Cayman. Your jungle guide will snatch a Cayman out of the water, allowing you to learn more about it up close, after which it’ll be carefully returned to its habitat.

Afterward, we head back to the lodge for a hearty breakfast in preparation for our morning trek. During the walk, your jungle guide will share valuable knowledge about the Amazon. You will learn many interesting things, such as the medicinal plants of the Amazon, as well as all the insects that call it home. You’ll also have a chance to see many of the native wildlife, like cheeky monkeys! Once the trek has been completed, it’s back to the lodge for lunch.
At 3 pm our afternoon activities start. We’ll take a canoe to Várzea forest, an area flooded with many small channels and waterways. You’ll get a unique perspective of the Amazon, learning much about the flora and fauna found here. During the dry season, this trip is done on foot since there is no water from August to March. This is a good area for spotting animals like monkeys, sloths, and some birds. When we finish, it’s back to the lodge for dinner.)

An excellent experience with an amazing guide, Kenrick Lacruz. He grew up here and so understands the rivers, the jungle, and the wildlife. One of the highlights for me was a night in hammocks in the jungle with fish & ‘jungle’ rice cooked over a fire. Toucans chattered away. A nighttime spearfishing expedition yielded several fish, including a bass, which we had for lunch the next day. Highly recommend this trip and Kenrick!

Amazing tour. Very well organized. We did 4days 3 nights tour at the Tapiri floating lodge with one night stay in the jungle. The itinerary was swapped a little bit between the multiple days, but they made sure they covered everything that was advertised. My tour guide was Toniel and he was pretty good. And the entire staff in the company are pretty good and caring, including the captains that drive the boats, and the cooks that prepared the meals. They all make a good team, helping each other out - just like one big family. I don’t speak Portuguese and thought it would be difficult during the trip; but they coordinate so well for the activities and everything would be so seamless and effortless. I have requested for a different drop off location and it was immediately accepted and honored. Full marks for customer service. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We had an absolutely incredible experience, we were so fortunate with not only the animals we saw but our guide Jamal had so much experience and was able to work really well with our driver João who took us to all the best parts. So many memories, but having the monkeys board our boat was fantastic, Piranha fishing was great fun and sleeping in the jungle with lightning going on in the background awesome.

This is a wonderful introduction into the Amazon rain forest. Everyday was a different experience either hiking in the jungle; boating through the water flooded bunches of trees; boating down the river looking for and finding all kinds of birds, dolphins both grey and pink. In addition there was opportunity to swim in front of our cabins and visit a working farm close to the lodge. The cabins and their furnishings and acutriments were basic but did the job needed. The AC worked well. The food was also basic fare, but healthy and abundant which wasn't a bad thing for us! Our guide Ken was most knowlegeable about the Amazon and its flora and fauna in addition to other various topics. Gustavo was a great navigator on the water and found animals particularly sloths hanging out in the trees. He seemed to have a sixth sense about these things. ' Overall a very enjoyable experience and would recommend to anyone I talk to. There was good value for the price paid to have this experience.

My partner and I had an incredible time on this trip and truly an experience we will never forget. The journey there was an adventure in itself from boat to land to boat again, but all worked very efficiently and smoothly. A special thanks to Yamal for the guidance and activities we did, it was a great balance of adventure and relaxation. Also kudos to him for his extensive knowledge on all the animals, plants and birds!! The Amazon is a special place. Also João was a brilliant local guide, expertly using his machete to take us through the jungle. The floating lodge itself was in beautiful surroundings with river dolphins! The room itself was large + had air con which was glorious due to the outside heat. The family who ran the lodge made us some lovely meals, so thanks to them as well. Brilliant few days all round but would highly recommend to do a night in the jungle to round off the experience! Thanks to everyone involved in making the trip happen!

Great Amazon experience that was exactly what we were looking for. Yamal was great and knew alot about the jungle which made for great chats during the activities. There was also plenty of downtime to just disconnect and reset away from the hustle and bustle of life. All made even more blissful if staying in the floating lodge where you can watch the rain hit the river and the dolphins and monkeys playing around.

This was a one of a kind experience to be integrated so fully within the Amazon jungle! We were collected from our hotel promptly by Joshua and straight away felt comfortable, which was good because for the remaining 4 days, our movements were out of our hands! We were driven to the meeting of the waters, picked up by someone else to be driven to the Amazon river, and collected by someone else who took us on a boat to the lodge we would stay at. Just getting to the lodge was already an adventure and took about 4 hours! Once we got there, we were in the hands of our two guides, one English and one Portuguese. Our English guide Yamal spoke perfect English so we could have a memorable tour. We learnt a lot about the jungle, the water, the animals. We did activities including caiman hunting, piranha fishing, canoeing, jungle trekking, swimming with pink dolphins and visiting a local village, and even spent a night in the jungle sleeping on hammocks! The guides took total care of us, and we didn’t have to lift a finger as they set up our camp and cooked dinner for us. The boat became our mode of transportation to each activity, and when we had some downtime we pulled onto the shores and either went to a local spaza shop for a beer or took a walk on the beach. The lodge we stayed at was the Tapiri lodge and the stay was comfortable with a room that felt like a treehouse, surrounded by trees. It has an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. The meals served were delicious! There was always a salad, rice, pasta, beans, fruit, local fruit juice, meat or chicken and usually fish. Either stewed or fried. We did have fried eggs for most breakfasts and a cake of sorts with tea and coffee. The only downside is that we didn’t see as many animals as we were hoping! So adjust your expectations as the jungle is so dense that it makes it almost impossible to spot anything! Most animals don’t want to be seen and probably won’t be spotted! All in all 10/10 and I would recommend it to someone wanting a real jungle experience! We felt completely safe in the hands of our capable guides and thank them very much!
