4.00A canal trip must be a compulsory activity in Amsterdam. Anthony (who loves the city’s bird life, and will point out all the different breeds with enthusiasm 💗) provided commentary with humour and knowledge - and was able to field random questions with confidence on the hour-long journey. There are blankets for windy days and umbrellas for rainy days (as the boats from this company have no roof). There is also a drinks cabinet if you fancy buying a drink. Have a good look around the immediate vicinity as I believe it’s possible to find cheaper hour-long boat trip - if you’re on a budget - and of course, if it’s raining, you may prefer to opt for a boat with a roof. Anthony will provide suggestions for your onward journey in the city, as well as directions. I had just a few hours in the city and this was a perfect activity for me.

5.00My husband booked us for a 10:30 a.m. tour. Our excellent captain, Rob, was knowledgeable, courteous and skilled with the boat. He even made a couple of recommendations for sights to see that we followed up on. We're so glad we went!
