This is a dark tour through the history of Jews in Amsterdam. Our guide Kevin was excellent and explained how it was living there as a Jewish family in the second world war. He had several pictures with him and this illustrated the dark history of the city and the tragedy of Anne Frank. We really learned a lot and the walk through the Jewish quarter was putting us in the middle of the cruelty that happened there. Allthough it is a rather dark tour it was worth every minute and important not to forget what happened.

Very engaging, educational and even entertaining! Manuel, our tour guide, was exceptional. Very informed, appropriately reverent, and like a 6th-grade teacher, he made learning fun! 🤩

This tour was excellent for getting a refresh on the history of the Netherlands in the context of WWII and how the Frank family fit into that history. The walking pace of the tour was great and our guide, Patrick, did a wonderful job of answering questions and throwing in tidbits of information about current Dutch culture, architecture, and cuisine in addition to the historical information as we walked along. The size of the tour was small so we could all hear what was being said and we had moments of free exploration at some of the areas we stopped. Standing in front of the door that would have led into the offices of Otto Frank's business, while listening to our guide read an entry from Anne's diary, was an especially moving way to end our tour. I will definitely recommend this tour to any of my travel clients who want to visit Amsterdam. *Just note, this tour does not include entry into the Anne Frank House. You will need to get your tickets for that separately.
