We found this to be a really rewarding excursion learning about the Sami lifestyle and some of the history. Our driver and guide Ole Mattis was really good and calm and explained everything really well. It was great to visit the Sami tri deer herd and the young Sami herder Ulf Isla was also really informative and calm explaining lots of things about the animals and Sami life. They were both really friendly and nice. We stopped at various Fjiprds along the way to take photos and enjoy the scenery Lunch at the arctic hotel was really really great with many great food choices from the buffet. Highly recommend this but it did get cold while feeding the reindeer but we warmed up nicely once inside the Sami tent for hot drinks and Stories and it was so good that Ole sang a couple of Sami songs

Ole (hope i spelled it right) was a great guide, and reiluf (again hope i spelled that right) was very interesting to listen to. Both seemed very genuine and genuinely happy and excited to share about their amazing culture and traditions, a great experience i will not forget.

The reindeer tour was excellent. First, feeding and seeing reindeers is an amazing experience. Second - the explanation about Sami culture were interesting and non-touristic vibe. Third - the views on the way were brilliant. Go on this tour to feel the Sami culture closely.

This is a great combination of seeing some fjords, enjoying time with reindeers and get to know more about Sami culture. What stood out for me was the friendliness en dedication of the guides Ole and Reiulf. They did everything to make everything for the group as comfortable as possible. My mom fell down and got great assistance. Both guides sang some joiks in the lavvu, where we could warm up around a fire while enjoying a hot drink. The reindeers are not in a fenced area. They roam free and are being extra fed during winter months. After the reindeerplace we went to Sommarøy for lunch and again a beautiful photostop. Lunch was in a nice hotel. Food was great and much needed after the excitement of the day. We were also lucky this was the only day during our stay in Tromsø with nice weather. If you like a less touristy excursion, you must do this one.
