What To Expect
If you’re looking for a genuine and authentic experience away from mass tourism, this is perfect for you! A member of our small family business will pick you up from your holiday accommodation, and from there we’ll drive to our reindeer farm and cabin on the shore of a private wilderness lake, just 35 minutes from Levi. Once there, you’ll get to explore a real, authentic reindeer farm with hundreds of reindeer and no other visitors—just our small group of up to 8 people and the reindeer. You’ll be able to touch the reindeer, feed them lichen, and take a reindeer for a walk. You will learn all about the reindeer’s year and life in Lapland. After this, we’ll head next door to our cabin, where we’ll continue with a snowshoe walk across the frozen lake into the snowy forest. We’ll tell you all about life in Lapland during all eight seasons. Afterwards, we’ll relax in the cozy cabin and enjoy roasting sausages, along with homemade pastries and a hot drink. You’ll be back at your accommodation four hours after pickup, filled with memories and carrying beautiful photos from your adventure. 5.00We had an absolutely fantastic tour, combining a visit to a reindeer farm with a wonderful snowshoeing experience. Everything was perfectly organized and exceeded our expectations. Our guide Pikka was local and passionate, which made a big difference. She shared a wealth of knowledge about the region, the reindeer, and traditional Lappish culture and way of life. It was both fascinating and enriching to learn directly from someone so connected to the environment. The visit to the reindeer farm was a highlight—getting up close to the animals in such an authentic setting was very special. The snowshoeing portion was equally enjoyable, with beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere throughout. We also had the chance to eat in a traditional kota, which was a unique and memorable experience. The setting was warm and authentic, and it added a special cultural touch to the day. Overall, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Levi area.

5.00My wife and I had a lovely time with Soma for a reindeer and snowshoe experience! Communications were excellent pre- trip. Wonderful hands on experience at a reindeer farm followed up by a snowshoe experience across a frozen lake and in the woods, finishing up with some homemade desserts by the fire at the family cottage on the lake. Truly unique activities with a welcoming guide that was a lot of fun. Highly recommend!!

5.00This Sami deer farm is authentic. Heli accompanied us excellently and explained everything in detail about the life of reindeer. Later we were driven to a cabin on the frozen lake. With the snowshoes we went across the lake into the deep snowy forest and back across the lake to the hut. Heil had prepared a soup with homemade bread. Also a dessert (cake) was served to us. Heli is so warm, it was a wonderful day. This promotion we had booked through Kerstin von Jokimaja (Köngäs). Anytime again. Highly recommended.

5.00Our Reindeer and Snowshoeing experience with SOMA Adventures was truly a highlight of our Lapland adventures! From the moment we were picked up, Heli and Pikka gave us a warm welcome and shared stories on the scenic ride to the experience. The property is absolutely stunning and surrounded by untouched nature. The reindeer experience was genuine and intimate. They were gentle and exciting to feed, and we’ll never forget leading two male reindeer, Snooze and Blueberry. They sweetly rubbed their heads and antlers against us, creating such a special and heartwarming connection. We snowshoed across a frozen lake and into serene, peaceful woods while other visitors tried ice fishing nearby. The stillness of the woods and the vast white landscape made the entire experience feel magical and pure. After our outdoor adventure, we warmed up in the cozy “lodge” and enjoyed delicious vegan soup. As if the day couldn’t get any better, it ended with a surprise snowmobile sleigh ride across the lake! This experience was authentic, peaceful, and incredibly special. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lapland — it’s something you’ll carry with you long after you leave.

5.00This tour was a blast and we can strongly recommend it to anyone who’s interested in getting to know the wonderful authentic Lapland. Heli is super friendly and we learned so many interesting facts about reindeers and the local surroundings where she grew up herself. After visiting the reindeer farm (where you can feel that the reindeers are at home and not considered as a tourist attraction), we went to her place to warm up and drank some hot juice before going snow walking across the lake to a beautiful forest. Afterwards Heli prepared an amazing treat for us including selfmade cake, hot chocolate and a small BBQ, again at her place where everything is super cozy and we felt at home even though being abroad. 5.00We booked this tour very last minute and were grateful that it was accepted. We had a lovely time with Tuikku, who deserves more than 5 stars! She was very well organized and answered all of our questions. There was a very friendly atmosphere and you can feel that the company makes an effort to create this kind of experience. The visit to the reindeer farm did feel a bit rushed but as we had already had another reindeer farm visit on a previous trip to Finland, this was not a big issue for us. Snowshoeing on the frozen lake and in the snowy forest was great. Grilling sausages in the warm cabin and enjoying some warm berry juice and home-made pastry was the perfect ending to a lovely day.
