Matt, our ‘history nerd’, as he refers to himself, was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with our many questions about Arlington. He walked at a comfortable pace for us and was conscientious to point out the shade trees we could use as a break from the 97 degree sun. His expansive wealth of knowledge was impressive!

My husband and I recently took a walking tour of Arlington Cemetery while visiting Washington DC, and we were blown away by our host, Matt. Despite some initial struggles with finding parking for our oversized truck, Matt was patient and kind, ensuring that we were able to start our tour without any issues. Matt's knowledge of the cemetery was truly impressive, and he provided us with insider tips that made our experience all the more special. From pointing out important landmarks to sharing interesting historical facts, Matt truly enhanced our understanding of Arlington Cemetery. One thing that stood out to us was how thoughtful Matt was throughout the tour. He made sure to inform us about restroom locations before and during the tour, as well as reminding us to bring water to stay hydrated. Additionally, he carefully scouted out the sites we would be visiting to ensure that we could enjoy them without being overwhelmed by crowds, especially with school groups being present that day. Another aspect that we appreciated was Matt's thoughtfulness in taking pictures of my husband and me at certain locations. This allowed us to have not just pictures of what we were seeing but also pictures with us in them, making our memories even more special. Overall, our walking tour of Arlington Cemetery was not only educational and informative but also incredibly enjoyable thanks to Matt's exceptional guidance. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Washington DC, and we are grateful to Matt for making our experience so memorable.

We were fortunate to have Matt give us a personal tour as we were the only ones on the day and time of this tour. His knowledge was unending. Not only did he know about the site, its origins, significance of sections, monuments and markers, he also told us about personal insights from his years of experiences with relatives of Arlington internees. We were delighted to have found and taken Matt’s tour due to his tenure as both a guide, photographer and historian. Tour took about three hours, and covered about 4 miles walking through the site which is hilly, but not overly steep. Would recommend to all.

So much history in a beautiful yet solemn location. MATT was our guide - he was extremely knowledgeable about Arlington’s history, layout and where all of the prominent hero’s were laid to rest. The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the unknown soldier was a highlight as was the tour of Arlington House. A 3 hour walk that seem to take no time at all. Highly recommend - and ask for MATT.
