The tour guides - Cam, Amelia and skipper were all excellent and very friendly and always there to assist you in anything. The boat is relatively new and very smooth ride out to reef. At reef guides took us all along reef in a guided snorkel. It was great to see all the fish , giant clams, and especially the giant turtle. We absolutely loved our afternoon tour and highly recommend. Thanks again.

I would thoroughly recommend this day out to anyone. Our guide was Scotty, who was entertaining and engaging throughout the day. He was a mine of information about New Zealand’s history, its flora, fauna and the geology of the area which brought the experience alive. Trevor and Heather at Toby Hill farm were welcoming fascinating. Its great to support a local business. Keas came to watch us eat lunch. Castle Hill rocks are dramatic and have a serene mystery about them. And finally the train journey has scenic views by the score that are easy to experience from the open carriage.

This tour has spectacular views you won’t want to miss. It was fun to visit a sheep farm and learn about the workings of the farm.

The Ford Transit Van has 16 seats (excluding the driver and front) and they do everything they can to fill it. It is an incredibly uncomfortable experience for this long trip. We ended up opting to take the train back to Christchurch which is what I recommend everyone do. You see more or less the same things and have a much more comfortable experience for slightly less money. We met some people who were on Cheeky Kea Travel and they had a better experience. Perhaps book with them and not Leisure Travel.

  • Not strenuous

This was a day of diverse activities, all enjoyable. Most importantly, it was conducted by a very competent and informative guide/driver, Carmine. She made everything easy for us from the moment she picked us up at our hotels. The day started with a train ride to Arthur's Pass, where Carmine met us again in the van to drive us the rest of the way. We had stops where we could do short walks, a meal that we ordered ahead, a visit to a sheep farm and lots of stories along the way about what we were experiencing as well as the history of the region. It was all very interesting.
