Amazing experience climbing Cerro Toco

5.00We climbed Cerro Toco with Jorge and Karla in January 2026. We had an amazing experience. They are both professional guides and had all the equipment/safety gears we needed. They also provided a very comprehensive brief the day before which was helpful. I felt safe at all times and they also provided good advice/were extra careful when some of us felt the altitude and started being a bit dizzy. It should also be mentioned that they both bring a very good and positive energy, from the car ride with epic music to the top of the mountain where they did a little ceremony. Could have not hoped for a better way to start the new year. Thanks to both :)

5.00The experience is a great one. The path of ascent is not too long and harsh, but the altitude may be an issue to many people. Yet, the guide had made very good pacing and picked the best route to help me succeed in making the successful summit. The panaromic view at the summit is gorgeous and worths the workout to climb. The path can be done self-guided, but the help of a guide may always be recommended for those who lacks experience and confidence at high altitude.

5.00Quima Expediciones gave us an unforgettable volcano hike in San Pedro. Jorge Matus was an exceptional guide—friendly, thoughtful, and incredibly supportive. He prepared a delicious breakfast with beautiful views, gave us a goody bag, and took great photos. When altitude sickness hit me hard, Jorge guided me with patience, breaks, encouragement, and humor. Thanks to him, I made it to the top and bottom. Best guide in the Atacama!

5.00I did the trekking to Cerro Toco and I just have to thank the guide Charlie. The walk is well pulled and tiring, but he was always asking if everything was okay and encouraging me, in addition, as a solo traveler, I felt super safe and cared for. I was fascinated by Charlie’s great respect for the mountain and nature and it really is a privilege to be there. I highly recommend and will come back other times! Thank you for everything!

5.00The experience was amazing. First the guide Jorge makes a meeting a few days before to check the clothes and give all the necessary guidance for the day of the climb to the hill. On the day of the rise, the guide gave all prior attention to all participants, including the provision of equipment. The agency provides a snack kit for consumption during the tracking. During the entire rise and descent of the volcano, the guide did an exceptional job, giving support and dedicated attention to everyone in the group, especially those who had indisposition due to the altitude. I have only positive points, from the experience with the guide and his agency to the experience with the rise to the volcano, which is something indescribable, not easy, but very worth it.
