Join us on a fun-filled and informative electric bike tour of Asheville! Approximately 3-hours long, this e-bike tour is the perfect way to experience the city’s charm and learn about its fascinating history. You’ll see Asheville’s noteworthy architectural gems, take in the stunning scenery from carefully chosen viewpoints, and hear the stories behind Asheville’s best historical sites.
The electric pedal assist and throttles on our e-bikes allow you to easily ride up Asheville’s steep hills! Your expert guide will lead you safely through city streets, bike greenways, and quiet, picturesque neighborhood roads. There is no better way to experience how Asheville has changed in recent years, what makes it so special today, and what’s in store for the years ahead than joining the Flying Bike on our award-winning Downtown Asheville E-bike Tour.

The electric bikes will take all of the hard work out of your ride. We routinely have riders that span the spectrum of age and fitness. The main requirement is that you be coordinated and fit enough to balance a 55-pound bike. A training and practice session is provided at the start of each tour. For people that would like to go on the tour but are not able to balance a bike, it is possible to arrange a ride on the back of one of our stretch cargo bikes that will be driven by another person in your party.
Legally, you must be 16 years or older to operate an electric bike. Guides reserve the right to request proof of age of any rider. Riders should also be at least 5 feet tall to operate their own bike. Guests younger than 16 may ride as a passenger with an adult in their group on the back of one of our cargo bikes or in a child seat (for children ages 1-6 or up to 48.5 pounds).
Tours are subject to favorable weather conditions. If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the storage bags on the bikes to protect your belongings. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
Pets are not allowed on tours, please contact us with any questions or concerns.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

5.00We were vacationing in the Asheville NC area and thought an E Bike Tour would be fun. We had never been on E Bikes before so we were excited to try them. Torin, our guide was absolutely wonderful. The tour started with introductions among our small group (total of 8 people). Then Torin explained how to use the E Bike along with great tips. He led us around Asheville, stopping at various locations to share its history and architecture. I felt safe and secure throughout the ride and the bikes were comfortable. Worth every penny. Added bonus, we saw a bear and her two cubs! Highly recommend! (FYI...I am 60 years old and my husband is 59.)

5.00Being in Asheville for a work conference, I had the opportunity to do an e-bike tour with The Flying Bike. What a fun experience! Never having ridden an e-bike, it was a little intimidating until Torin explained how simple it was. With his guidance, we, as a group, were able to conquer the challenging hills throughout Asheville! Loved the historic tidbits he provided while biking through the beautiful Montford neighborhood, Grove Park Inn, and the center of downtown. I highly recommend Torin for a fun afternoon bike ride!

4.00Met in the parking lot at the visitor center which had great parking. Met josh the guide there and he went over all the safety features and had us try the bike before our ride. He was attentive and helpful. I appreciate stoping at the sites designated but it was too long at the Omni. Totally get trying to build up the economy after the hurricane but his conversation about the dining at the flat iron and omni idk. Just seemed more sales than authentic. Great ride and fantastic path.
