Pretty amazing experience for the kids, allowing them to explore the ocean without getting wet. Saw lots of fish and a few eels. The shipwrecks aren’t too impressive. The guide was interactive though and well spoken. Probably would not do it again as once is enough.

It's a truly unique view that you can't get anywhere else. The sub will dive over 100 feet down and you'll see shipwrecks and lots of sea life. It wasn't super crowded when we went but I imagine if it was fully booked it might be.

What marine life you will see varies, but you do get to see 2 sunken boats, beautiful blue ocean and enjoy a ferry to and from the submarine. Easy location, great staff!

Check in Staff - excellent Boat Captain & Staff- excellent Submarine driver & Tour guide- excellent But the problem with this experience is the unpredictability that goes with a tour that accommodates a multitude of passengers. We were unfortunately booked for a time slot that included many fighting children, loud adults and people that seemed to lack awareness regarding general politeness. My two kids enjoyed the experience and for me that is enough to counter the unpleasant travelers. If someone is accustomed to snorkeling or scuba diving, the viewing of fish isn’t anything exciting or out of the ordinary but it was neat to experience the submarine navigation down to a depth of 129 feet and then the navigation of the ocean floor. The tour guide had an awesome voice and gave a wonderful presentation, he was lovely and we were happy to tip for his skillful interactions and communication. He made it fun despite the noise of the ill behaved children.

I was canceled because of rough weather. Not any one’s fault, just the roll of the dice. The submarine company gave us a timely phone call telling us why it was canceled.

I was really nervous in advance of the tour, primarily about seasickness and claustrophobia. Neither one was a problem. The submarine is very smooth once you go below the surface. There is no rocking at all. But each seat does have an "aloha bag" just in case. I also didn't find it claustrophobic because there are so many windows, and they're looking out towards the open ocean. It made me feel like I was in a vast space. The whole experience was actually a bit like being on an airplane. If you can handle the motion and the type of closeness you have on a plane, you can do this. We signed in at the shop inside the King Kamehameha hotel. You enter the lobby and go a bit to the left and back. It's easy to find. There are bathrooms to use if you need. Then they walk everyone down to the pier where you board a boat to get out to the submarine. The ride is short, about 5 minutes. The boat ties up to the submarine, and they help you board. You'll need to descend a ladder, but someone is standing at the bottom to make sure you don't have any difficulty. Then you take a seat facing a window. The boat stays with the submarine at the surface for the duration of the tour. There's a digital monitor that tells you your depth, which is cool, and each seat has a reference chart of the fish you might see. A guide narrates throughout, providing information about what we were seeing and answering questions. We saw lots of coral and reef fish. They were so beautiful. We also saw 2 shipwrecks! It was cool to get to see that up close, as well as how the wrecks served as a reef. Lots of fish were living inside. The tour went by so fast. I wouldn't hesitate to do this again, I loved it.

awesome tour guide! Great experience - not as Closter phobic as I thought it would be. Very knowledgeable Guide. The walk to the boat on a sandy beach is something to prepare for as you get on a boat to go out to the submarine. We saw sunken ships, many fish and incredibly, a shark chasing thousands of fish!
