Mix of good and not so good. The first part on a ‘green’ bus was comfortable and enjoyable as we viewed the city. Commentary was great other than a few repeats that didn’t quite line up (MOTATA stop and Museum) After we got off at Mt Eden, climbed to top and then got onto the Explorer yellow bus with open area at top the trip turned around with driver being ‘Jekyl and Hide’. He was initially quite rude when all he needed was to politely ask the group to wait until people had got off the bus. Later we saw him be very polite and helpful to a lady. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and as the bus filled we needed the air turned up a bit to cool us. Definitely can’t hop on and off and see everything in a day as we had to wait about an hour to be picked up after we got off at Mt Eden. Would not use again

Study up on Auckland history to make it worthwhile. Got off one time to change drivers bc he couldn’t speak English. Very frustrating. No merchants downtown take Amex !! Take your visa or Mastercard. Fortunately there were good samaritans who bailed me out

A wonderful way to get around the city of Auckland & to see all the important attractions. Bus run every 30 minutes. Commentary onboard is perfect, concise & easy to understand. Highly recommend.

It isn’t very informative. I felt like it was a waste of money. If you are someone who can’t get off at the stops and just ride around the whole time, it was boring.

Great way to see the city and beyond. However it was a lot of money to hear very little of the commentary. This was a headphones free tour, with traffic, the wind, the bus engine, people talking on the bus and various road works it was very difficult to hear. As a warm day we didn’t want to sit inside. I would be reluctant to recommend this tour.

The time between returns to stops is unpredictable. There is no way to see where the busses are. They should install the bus tracking app feature to track bus locations at all times, like the hop on hop off bus system in Las Vegas, NV.

Informative and clear commentary, but we were bumped from a nearly empty bus to an overcrowded bus. We couldn’t even sit together. Very disappointing.

A little pricey for what you see but to avoid hills, worth it!! Would encourage anyone with only a day to see the city: do the Hop on Hop off bus

Easy to catch. Not a lot of stops. We only had to wait once for the next bus, but that was because a cruise was in town. Got us to all the places we wanted, plus more. We did both the blue and red tours.

The hop-on hop-off bus tour was awesome. The busses were comfortable and the narration was easy to hear. The bus driver was also very helpful. After this tour, I felt that we had a very good understanding of Auckland and it's layout. I would highly recommend this inexpensive tour to anyone coming to Auckland for their first time experience.
