West Auckland, the thriving heart of New Zealand's wine industry since the early 20th century, boasts a rich tapestry of family-owned vineyards, many of which have been lovingly passed down through generations of Croatian-descended families. These devoted grape growers have nurtured their vines and craft for years, with some vineyards proudly celebrating their fifth generation of winemakers, a true testament to the passion and heritage of winemaking that flows. You will visit three stunning vineyards and enjoy a delicious lunch at one of them, complemented by a glass of wine. There will be plenty of wine and food to savour.

Westbrook Winery
This story begins in Croatia, with the renowned wine-making Ivicevich family planting their first grapevines and starting to create a name for themselves in Waimauku (West Auckland) Their success and reputation followed them as they moved to New Zealand in 1935, establishing the Sunnyvale vineyard in West Auckland and the Waimauku property. Here, you will taste wines and enjoy the beautiful views of the vineyard and surrounding areas. This vineyard is very much on the border of the Riverhead Forest, just stunning views.
