Already old cultures considered northern lights as one of the most extraordinary and spectacular experience which is never twice the same. That’s why we can chase aurora again and again with hope that tonight it will be surprising and colorful as never before.

If you would like to experience this tour with us, we will take you to some of the best places to watch northern lights where we will be surrounded with magnificent mountains and fjords far away from the city lights and busy civilization. During whole tour we stay in touch with other experienced guides for getting their weather updates and we follow 3 different weather forecasts to make right conclusions where to go.

With our two full frame cameras will are ready to take portraits of you with northern lights in the background, plus northern lights and scenery photos. Timelapse/video we offer in case of nice strong aurora activity. We will gladly help you with our warm dresses and camera tips which you may need here in Arctic.

What To Expect

Tromso

Take advantage of our 10 years of Aurora chasing experiences. Our friedly and knowledgeable guide will drive with you up to 250 kilometers from Tromso in order to find for you the best possible weather conditions. Once, after finding good weather location, our mission is to take nice portraits of you and Aurora, scenic photos and possibly timelapse/video, which we gladly share with you the very next day. For your comfort during every tour are icluded; our winter dresses, camp fire, tripod chairs with small reindeer skins, hot drinks served with muffins and fruits and camera tripods for DSLR and mirrorless cameras. For our custommers who wish to rest little bit, we gladly keep heated minibus at all times (new minibus Mercedes Sprinter). Our regular tours are usually 6-9 hours long depending on weather conditions and aurora activity. Arrival times to Tromsø depends alot on distance which we had to cover during our chase, and it could vary from night to night; between 1-3am.

Tromso Fjords

Tromsø fjords, mountains and journey to Finland are most frequent locations and directions, where we are chasing northern lights and best possible weather conditions. The correct choice of coastal, or innland areas increase our chances of finding clear sky for you, becuase climate is often very different around west coast comparing to innland areas, or even with climate in Finland. All locations are beautiful, yet very different. Fjords around west coast are only 1 hour away with average temperature during coldest vinter period of -5/-10 degrees Celsius. Innland areas and particurarly Finland (and border) are further away from Gulf stream(which makes coast warmer) and that is the reason why we can experience temperatures colder than minus 20 degrees Celsius in Finland, where we drive regurarly ; whenever weather forecast require that. Therefore, we are one of very few providers who offers to our custommers heatet minibus at all times (for your rest, sleep, or just to get bit warmer=).

Chasing the Northern Lights in Tromsø was a truly memorable experience for us. Our guide, Daniel, was extremely experienced and knew exactly where to go to maximize our chances of seeing the aurora. His passion and knowledge never disappointed, as he took the time to explain the science behind the aurora throughout the journey. He truly went above and beyond. Daniel also brought the group together with laughter and a fun, friendly atmosphere, making the trip even more enjoyable. The hospitality provided by Flexitour exceeded our expectations. They even dropped us off right at our doorstep after the tour. The tour package was excellent, including snacks, thermal outfits, and a warm wood fire that kept us comfortable throughout the night. Daniel was so kind and friendly, and made sure to keep us warm and comfortable during the journey to see the northern lights. He also made sure we had enough snacks and drinks to keep us well fed. He drove us a long distance towards finland to get to a good spot with least cloud cover and medium chance of northern lights, and we were lucky enough to get amazing views of the lights! And lastly, he took amazing pictures of us and incredible videos of the lights! Highly reccommend.

Fastastic tour operator. Daniel was so friendly and helpful. Great English and he was the best host. Hot drinks and snacks, keep the bus warm, but lots importantly really cared about giving you a great northern lights experience. We were one of the last mini buses out and were so pleased with what we did manage to see. Thanks Daniel, would highly recommend

On Friday evening I took part in a Northern Lights hunt with Daniel and would like to thank you very much for the great experience. Daniel supported me with my camera shots, found a nice observation spot, explained scientific facts about the Northern Lights, told us about the Sami and Viking ideas about the Northern Lights, lit a fire for us, provided us with hot drinks, fruit and muffins and took beautiful photos of the participants. A huge thank you that Daniel, when we were almost back in Tromsö, turned back again and allowed us to see the third and strongest wave of the Northern Lights, even though it was already very late.

Saw the lights when we were not expecting too - Daniel is really helpful and caring with good explanation given from start to finish - he brought olenty of snacks fruit and muffins as well as hot drinks . He took lots of photos which he emailed to us the following day - we lit a campfire and sat and warmed up after he took us into Finland to see the lights , I would highly recommend Daniel

Daniel was tireless in his search for auroras — we drove towards Finland, and along the way we found one already active, but that didn’t stop him from continuing to the final destination where he believed we might find more. Friendly, attentive, and always concerned about the clients’ well-being. When we stopped to wait for the auroras, he made a campfire, provided chairs and blankets, and offered hot drinks, muffins, and fruit. Worth noting that the minibus heating was always on and the door kept closed while we were waiting, allowing anyone who felt uncomfortable with the cold to step inside and warm up. At the end, he dropped all clients off at their hotel or as close as possible, given the road conditions. An excellent experience.

Be prepared for a long night especially if weather conditions are not optimal. Daniel tracked and found the multi colored lights chasing them through Norway and Finland. An exceptional experience by a truly professional guide. Daniel truly wanted his clients to have a wonderful experience on his tour and we did.

Wow, just wow. Perfection. Daniel is the most genuine guide I have ever met. We went with our family, and he was so engaging, so genuinely focused on our seeing the aurora (we did!) and that we were happy and comfortable. We were the last bus out - there were about 7 of us, which made for an even more engaging experience. The weather was touch and go, so Daniel kept driving around to help us see max aurora. He was the last tour bus on the road at the end of the night. The warm winter suit, reindeer skins, fire, choco drink and tea as well as the muffins plus the knowledgeable guide made this truly one of the best experiences of our lifetimes. Daniel rocks.
