Come with us for your Aurora hunt for an amazing and ethical experience underneath the Aurora Borealis. Leave the light pollution in Tromsø behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness. During this tour, our small team of Aurora guides check the forecasts & use local knowledge to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights. When we find the best spot, we will dress in warm thermal suits and boots, make a cosy campfire, and enjoy a homemade meal.
You'll be shown how to use your camera, photograph the Aurora, and our guides will take photos of you, available for free in web-sized resolution after the tour.
During our time together in the wilderness, we will collect data for a citizen science project and help protect the Arctic nature through responsible tourism.
Enjoy our hot chocolate before being returned to Tromsø island to your hotel. Though there is never a guarantee of seeing this phenomenon, our experienced team will do their best every night of the season.

The trip was amazing, made especially wonderful by our guide Isaac and our fantastic driver who got us safely back from Finland in a snow storm. Isaac filled the trip with interesting information and went out of his way to search for the very best place to find the Northern Lights. The end result, an experience and a memory that will last a lifetime. Thanks so much wondering owl.

Evgeni was a very professional and experienced tourguide. He managed to find the best location for the Aurora-Lights. We won't forget the time on the beach with very tasty vegetable soup, vegan hot chocolate and home made cookies. The photos he made for us are excellent and we got them very soon. We warmly recommend this tour this guide in particular. A very great night!

We had the most amazing snowshoeing adventure in Tromso, all thanks to our wonderful guide, Mia. From the very beginning, she took such great care of us—guiding us safely and confidently through the entire trail, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Mia’s knowledge of the area, her patience, and her positive energy made the whole experience feel magical. She even treated us to delicious homemade food, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. It honestly felt like we were exploring with a friend rather than a guide. She is a truly lovable and warm person, and her passion for what she does made our journey absolutely incredible. This snowshoeing trip became one of the highlights of our time in Tromso! -Somalia & Sayantan

Awesome is the 1 word to describe it. The guide, Issac, and the driver did their best to hunt for the aurora light. At first, we were very scared that we were not see the light as there was heavy snow but Issac and the driver drove right into the Finland to hunt for the light. When we saw the light, we were so !&/$:$& delighted. We watched for 3 fantastic display of the aurora light before departing back to the hotel. Be aware that the tour might take very long. By the time, we reached back hotel, it was 2 AM. Advice: bring light, keep yourself warm, and empty your bladder.

The whole experience was fantastic, our tour operator Mia knew everything that was needed to make sure our experience was awesome. I cannot recommend Wondering Owl and more. If you are going on a Northern Lights chase ….choose them !
