Come with us for your Aurora hunt for an amazing and ethical experience underneath the Aurora Borealis. Leave the light pollution in Tromsø behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness. During this activity, our small team of Aurora guides check the forecasts & use local knowledge to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights. When we find the best spot we will dress in warm thermal suits and boots, make a cosy campfire, and enjoy a homemade meal. During your Aurora Hunt activity you'll become a citizen scientist and collect data for our Tundra Restoration Project. You'll be shown how to use your camera, photograph the Aurora, and our guides will take photos of you, which are provided for free in web-sized resolution after the tour.
Relax by the fire with hot chocolate before being returned back to Tromsø island to your hotel. Though there is never a guarantee of seeing this phenomenon, our experienced team of Aurora Hunters will do their best, every night of the season.

Let me start this review by saying that the description is 100% accurate. It is an extremely long tour, and the guides do their utmost to find a good location to see the lights. In our case, Anna the guide and Jonas our driver (who braved the most terrifying driving conditions with a snowstorm and did it safely) did their best. That being said, for the price you're paying, sitting in a bus for 7 out of 9 hours feels exhausting. Of course, my perspective is likely colored by the fact that we didn't get lucky. But independently of that, we ate very late and had to move around because other groups were out as well, and it just felt messy. My recommendation would be to organize better according to the weather, other groups and the timing. For example, if there is a low probability of the lights, then maybe don't force it.

It was a very memorable trip for the family with our lovely guide Anna and friendly driver. Though we won't able to witness too much solar activity due to the weather, it was still a fun tour with great conversation with other guests and learning about the various technicalities of solar activity. I highly recommend this tour!

We had a great experience with Anna as our guide. She picked a good spot where we could see both the stars, and eventually the Northern Lights also. We got back to Tromsø around 3:00a so do not recommend scheduling an early activity the next day.

Seeing the Northern Lights was phenomenal. It was certainly one of the best experiences I have had and it definitely healed something within me.

It was quite an adventure to see no northern lights. The weather was unpredictable and the circumstances were not good. The group was quite nice and friendly. The soup was delicious and the cookies were good. The guide was average and the driver was OK. The driver managed to get the tow bar stuck in a railing. The driver and the guide managed to get the tow bar unstuck and we arrived in Tromso at 3 am. Giving money for such an unpredictable tour is not worth it.
