Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau
Visit KL Auschwitz 1. Walk through the iron gate bearing the notorious slogan Arbeit Macht Frei, which means Work Sets You Free. See 22 brick barracks, which were prison for hundreds of thousands of victims of the Holocaust. The most chilling is block number 11, the so-called prison within the prison. Block 11 contained special torture chambers including dark chambers or standing cells where various punishments were inflicted on prisoners. The first attempts to kill people with Zyklon B took place in this block. The only preserved crematorium and gas chamber is located at the end of the camp. After the visit to KL Auschwitz 1, travel in the minivan to KL Auschwitz 2 Birkenau. This part of the camp is 25 times larger than Auschwitz 1 and it was the largest of the death camps. Over 1,100,000 people were murdered here. Between 62 wooden barrack are the ruins of 4 crematoriums and gas chambers, which were destroyed by the Nazis in an effort to hide the evidence of their crimes.

The guide is key and our guide was fantastic. H spoke clearly and did not get overely emotional but yet his delivery was heart felt.

Thanks to Royal Tours Krakow for agreeing to postpone the visit originally scheduled for the end of November. The transfers went very well with very kind drivers. Many people at the memorial even at this time but the guide in French was very good. The visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp is moving but you should do it even if you are a bit pressed by the other groups.

We visited Auschwitz at 1230 on 18th January and were given an orange badge. Our tour guide (sadly I didn’t get his name but hopefully with date and time you will know plus he is in attached photo) was absolutely phenomenal. He spoke with such passion and brought everything to life. Both my husband and I felt we had learned so much and I really hope he gets to hear what an impression he made to us and all on the tour. Thank you

Extremely interesting visit, with a French Guide, equipped with a microphone, and we wore a headset so we could hear throughout the visit to Auschwitz And then, without equipment in Birkenau, but since there were far fewer people, we could follow the explanations. The tour operator asked us the day before, if it was possible to go to the meeting point at 6am, instead of 10am. Arriving at the meeting point, there were a lot of people and buses so a little difficult to get there. But the drivers have the lists of passengers they should welcome on their bus, so you have to be careful , because everyone lists their list. We were afraid of being very cold, but the visit to Auschwitz happens a lot in the heated buildings. It lasts two hours. And Birkenau, it only lasts an hour, and the majority is outside.

Months ago deliberately booked an afternoon tour to Auschwitz for the family. Once in Poland, Royal Tours Krakow informs us the day before that the afternoon tour has been cancelled and gives us a ridiculously early alternative. When you read the many reviews it appears that they do this structurally and they are often labeled as unreliable. Unfortunately, you can't read this on booking website Get Your Guide which operates as an intermediary in this but you can read it on TripAdvisor. Eventually the visit to Auschwitz did not happen. Luckily Poland is a nice country so we have not been bored but I would skip this organization. Don’t rely blindly on reviews from providers such as Get Your Guide, but look further.

Catastrophic experience with this service provider hired by GetYourGuide who sold tickets that are not in their possession and who summons us at 1:40 in the morning instead of 5:30 by announcing that we will have to queue for 4 hours outside in the middle of the night without being sure to be able to return, their objective being clearly to cash a com without assuming it, in short an organized scam

I booked this tour and was very worried as I had seen online multiple negative experiences with tour operators that tickets are not guaranteed etc and you may have to queue on arrival and then be turned away. This was not the case. We we collected in a small shared car on time. Our driver was very friendly and informed us of the order of events. We met an English tour guide who explained everything with interesting facts and answer any questions. It was very well organised and we were so well looked after. Tickets had already been purchased ahead of time. You must visit !!!

Very well organized by Viator. We arrived just as the bus was leaving because we were stuck on the road, and qqn waited for us to join the group

Guide on site at the top. The only negative point is that the site offers a pick-up at the hotel and the day before we are asked to go on our own to a meeting point common to the whole group.

This company was absolutely brilliant, (I was a little nervous, after booking my tip to Autzwich, due to false propaganda, and reviews) There bus Driver and tour guide Peter was amazing and informative, we need not have had any worries. The other two lady tour guides will also brilliant. Thank you all so much.
