As it is mandatory in Auschwitz Birkenau museum to confirm your personal details, you are required to take with you passport or ID to be presented at the entrance to museum. Please do not forget it, otherwise you may be not allowed to enter museum.

While in Auschwitz-Birkenau, visitors are required to behave appropriately and respectfully

Temperatures in Wieliczka Salt Mine are around 59ºF (15ºC). Also, it should be taken into account that narrow paths may seem claustrophobic, and once underground there is no possibility to shorten your visit and turn back. At the entrance, visitors descent 400 steps down and the whole tourist route features over 800 stairs

In Auschwitz-Birkenau visitors are generally allowed to take pictures with a few, clearly indicated exceptions. Taking photos and filming in Wieliczka Salt Mine is possible only after purchasing additional pass

The maximum size of your carry-on can not exceed the following dimensions: 11.8 x 7.8 x 3.9 inches (30 x 20 x 10 cm). You can leave your larger luggage in the car

Please note that in the camps there are mostly dirt tracks, which may cause minor difficulties for wheelchair-users

There are no restrictions regarding the age of children in Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz Birkenau Memorial and Museum, but they should be either capable of walking unassisted or carried in baby slings or baby carriers. Baby pushchairs are not allowed underground (salt mine)

What To Expect

This combined, full-day tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine takes up to 10 hours. The offer includes door-to-door pickup and drop-off in a private Mercedes Benz vehicle with an English-speaking driver. The tour starts with pickup directly from your hotel, usually at 9:00 am. You then proceed to Auschwitz-Birkenau. The one-way drive takes around 70 minutes. A short documentary film, The Liberation of Auschwitz, will be screened in the car on the ride over. Your ticket covers entrance fees to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine, as well as tours in English with a guide in both landmarks.

Wieliczka Salt Mine

After approximately a 3.5-hour guided tour in Auschwitz-Birkenau, your driver will take you to Wieliczka Salt Mine. The journey takes up to 1.5 hours. A 1-hour lunch break is arranged before entering the Salt Mine. You can also be provided additionally paid lunch boxes. The standard guided tour in the salt mine takes around 2.5 hours. After the tour, your driver will drop you off at your hotel or anywhere else in Krakow city center around 8pm.

It was a nice experience seeing Auschwitz and learning more about history. It was heavy to see these structures due their purposes but we learned a lot. Thanks also to our guide Adam who brought us in Salt Mine. This place was amazing. Seeing this mine stars-trucked everyone due to its construction and what has inside. It’s a must!!

We booked a trip with Krakow Direct for 10 of us to Auschwitz and the Salt mine. Our drivers were Aleksandra and Andrzej as we needed two cars. They were both absolutely fantastic, really knowledgeable and fun and always on time to pick us up and guide us through next parts of tours. I would not hesitate to recommend or use this company again 5 ⭐️

Outstanding. Private car driven by Rafa, gorgeous clean car and such a lovely young man. Informed us of travel times and said to let him know if we needed to stop for breaks. Even took us to a shop so we could buy some lunch. Faultless service taking us to the venues and introducing us to guides. He could not have done any more for us he was excellent would highly recommend thank you!
