This is our star tour, showing the very best speakeasy bars Austin has to offer—each with its own unique theme.
We begin right at sunset at a hidden speakeasy disguised as a travel agency just outside downtown. This tiki-themed venue features vibrant, exotic décor, theatrical drinks, and unmatched creativity.
From there, we head to a hidden luxury speakeasy tucked inside a casual Mexican restaurant, where the atmosphere and décor are breathtaking and the aesthetic alone is enough to consider this location one of Austin's best speakeasies!
We then journey through the heart of downtown, sharing Austin’s rich history while passing landmarks such as the Texas State Capitol and the famously haunted Driskill Hotel. Then we slip into an exclusive speakeasy—accessible only by invitation—hidden in a back alley behind the Driskill. Intimate and luxurious, it serves some of the most unforgettable cocktails you’ll ever taste.

Considered one of Austin’s 50 Best Restaurants and featured in GQ, this iconic spot offers an incredibly fun and vibrant tiki-style atmosphere. With some of the most theatrical drinks and best food in the area, it’s truly the star of our tour.
This cocktail lounge offers a luxurious setting with a warm, glowing atmosphere that is both inviting and relaxing. It’s truly a hidden speakeasy, featuring some of the most impressive interior design in Austin. The drinks are also excellent, especially if you prefer them on the more spirit-forward side. The ambiance alone makes it worthy of being considered one of the best speakeasies in Austin.

5.00Dylan’s 3 Speakeasies Tour in Austin was absolutely fabulous. From start to finish, it felt like an adventure with a fun group of strangers who quickly became part of the experience. These were places we never would have found on our own, each one truly captured the spirit of the Prohibition era, complete with hidden entrances, storefront disguises, and secret codes that made every stop exciting. We were welcomed like VIPs at every location, and each speakeasy offered something unique from the flavors to the atmosphere. While none of the spaces were large, they each had a strong presence and great energy, even on a Tuesday night. Our time at each stop is limited, so I recommend eating beforehand (as others have suggested). I’d also encourage you to try something different at each location, you don’t have to leave the tour sloshed just because it’s bar-focused. Between stops, Dylan shared fascinating history about the area, adding depth to the experience. He was more than just a tour guide, he was a personal concierge, answering every question and offering excellent recommendations for the rest of our time in Austin. He truly went above and beyond to make sure the tour exceeded expectations. If you want to dress up, you definitely should, it fits the vibe, but casual attire is perfectly acceptable too. Since there is walking involved through downtown, comfortable shoes are a must. The tour wraps up at the perfect time to continue the night on 6th Street if you’re looking to keep the fun going.

5.00My husband and I had a great time on the Speakeasies tour! Dylan was full of information and recommendations of great things to do in the Austin area. The places we went to were each unique in their own way and we loved getting to see a variety of them around town. We met great people, shared some laughs and really settled into Austin on the first night of our trip. You should absolutely do this tour- it's a blast!

Dylan was an absolute delight and took us to three unique speakeasies - each with its own vibe & excellent drinks. He was so friendly and easy to talk to (which was great as we ended up with a private tour that night) and he even helped us experience our first automated car ride!! We also appreciated his knowledge of the city, the history, and the detailed information he gave us on other things to while we were here. We felt like locals and not tourists, and each establishment treated us like honored guests!! Thank you SO much!!
