Your tour starts at the AIS Visitor Centre, where you'll meet your guide for your immersion into athletics in Australia. Learn about sports in a hands-on way with Sportex, an educational and engaging sports experience where you can try wheelchair basketball, virtual downhill skiing, rock climbing, football penalty shootouts, and more. Sportex is included as part of every AIS tour. Try out a selection of interactive activities such as testing your accuracy, speed, and strength with the ball-skills tester or reaction timer, plus explore educational exhibits such as the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Heroes and Legends, and Sports Science. *Please note, Sportex is undergoing exciting refurbishments and will be closed from 23 June to 3 August 2025

Wonderful tour! Our guide is currently an athlete at the AIS and was a wealth of knowledge. You get to see a fair bit of the place and if you’re lucky enough, some athletes might be training!

A good incite into this facility, especially touring just after the Olympics. We had a well informed guide and is was interactive so kids can enjoy. Fun and informative

Empty halls - boring. No athletes to be seen - boring. Everything we saw could have been a photo, all those facilities for 120 athletes and no evidence of the return on investment. You should be selling the facility to is punters! Guide was good (WA 1500m swimmer)
