The guide explains mate etiquette, preparation techniques, cultural meaning, and its role as a social ritual in Uruguay. When weather conditions allow, this experience takes place outdoors in Parque Rodó, one of Montevideo’s most iconic public parks and a favorite meeting place for locals. Guests relax in a green, open setting while enjoying fried pastries and the mate ritual. In case of rain or unfavorable weather, the mate experience is held at the Mercado Agrícola de Montevideo, a historic indoor market, ensuring the activity runs comfortably regardless of weather conditions. Each traveler receives a mate and bombilla as a gift to take home.
