After that, head to Avila to admire its impressive city walls and take a guided tour of the city as you discover its fascinating history.

What To Expect
Segovia
Check in at our office in central Madrid 15 minutes in advance of your tour. Leave the city towards Segovia aboard one of our air-conditioned coaches. Our first stop will be in the city of Segovia. Upon arrival, we will be divided into different groups. If you have chosen “Full day Tour on your own”, you will enjoy approximately three hours of free time to visit the city on your own. If you have chosen the “Guided tour with monuments”, you will have access to the Alcázar of Segovia, where you will enjoy a guided tour while you marvel at its spectacular fortification. Did you know that its architecture inspired Walt Disney for one of his films? Can you tell us which one?
Walk through the old Jewish quarter of the city and visit the exterior of the Cathedral. Those who have the gastronomic lunch included will head to the restaurant; to enjoy a typical local menu with roast suckling pig that will not leave you indifferent.

5.00Silvia, our tour guide, was great. Very knowledgeable. Her English is perfect. I would recommend that the company forewarn that tours could be bilingual so you have that expectation up front. Definitely more time Needed in Avila. Add 45 minutes to the tour and it would be perfect!

5.00Fun trip to see two historic cities set at the base of the mountains. You will walk around the towns. We did not buy the lunch and instead brought something so we could spend more time exploring. Mateo was a great guide who knew a lot about the towns’ history. I do wish we had more free time in Avila.

5.00Very good experience! The transport very clean, Franklin the driver very attentive and Matthew very good guide, with good knowledge, attentive. The time in Ávila I consider is little as we could not be on the wall long enough to admire the views, however it does not detract from how well everything was.

5.00It was an amazing tour. Very well timed and paced. Mateo is a great guide. To the point and very nice. The restaurant choice is excellent and not crowded. I really liked this bilingual format is very convenient for mixed groups and you don’t want to left out companions and have the same experience.

5.00Wonderful tour with Mateo and our driver Mariano. Mateo managed the time well and we were able to see a lot in a short period of time. If you want time to shop for souvenirs you need to skip lunch with the group. We decided to join lunch last minute and it was very delicious and worth it.

5.00I very much enjoyed the tour of both Segovia and Avila. I had not been to either place in iver 50 years. Our guide, Mateo, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped to make the tour even better than if I had gone without a tour guide. The bus driver, Luis did a wonderful job of getting the tour group safely there and back. I will recommend Juliá Travel to everyone I can. Thank you!
