We invite you to discover Transnistria – the place where the old USSR is still alive and flourishing. It is a breakaway territory within the internationally recognized borders of Moldova. The country’s national coat of arms still includes the traditional hammer and sickle and the Lenin is revered till today.
Our first stop will be the Bender fortress - an architectural monument of the XVI century. It was built on the model of the Western European structure of bastion type. You can walk along the walls enjoying the great views of the Dniester River.
After Bender, we take you to Tiraspol, the capital of Transnistria and the 2nd largest town of Moldova. We will take you to the major attractions of Tiraspol, such as V. Lenin monument and House of Soviets, the Transnistrian Parliament (25 October Ave, Tiraspol), the Afghanistan War Memorial, Monument-tank, and more.
Possible extensions for this tour: KVINT Distillery (Tiraspol), MIMI Wine Castle, Asconi Winery or Noul Neamt Monastery.

The total duration of the tour (8 hours), is including the driving time to Transnistria and back to Chisinau.
Valid passport is required for the customs control
International cards (Visa/Master) are not accepted in Tiraspol / Cash only.

Bendery Fortress
Our first stop will be at Bender Fortress. In 1713, the fortress, the town, and the neighboring village Varniţa were the site of skirmishes (kalabalik) between Charles XII of Sweden, who had taken refuge there with the Cossack Hetman Ivan Mazepa after his defeat in the Battle of Poltava.

5.00My guide Natalia was excellent from start to finish. Very informative with a great depth of knowledge of both Moldova and Transnistria. The tour itself was fantastic, enjoyed every moment of it with many highlights along the way. As football fans we had a quick added venture round the outside of the stadium of sheriff tirispol which Natalia help us do. All in all a fantastic tour. Would highly recommend. Craig, Scotland

5.00We had an incredible experience on this tour! Our guide, Marina, was absolutely wonderful—so kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of the region. She made the entire day engaging and enjoyable, providing so much interesting information while also creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The tour was perfectly organized and gave us a full day of learning, new experiences, great food, and fascinating sights. Marina’s enthusiasm and attention to detail really made the trip special. We came away understanding so much more about Transnistria than we ever expected. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Moldova. If you have the chance to go with Marina, you’re in great hands!

5.00Fabulous trip from beginning to end. The vehicle was very comfortable & our guide was entertaining & knowledgeable. All things were covered & we felt very well looked after. If I could give anyone a top though , get some Rubles before you leave Chisinau. You can pay in Leu in Tiraspol but the rate is appalling.

4.00Positives - Lots of interesting locations covered - Lots of photo opportunities - Well-organised and run tour, enables you see a lot in one day - Back in the USSR restaurant is definitely worth a visit - Informative tour guide (though you may want to fact check some of the information provided) - Good value for money compared to other tours of the region Recommended Improvements - Some of the stairs you need to use to get good views in Bender don't have railings. Warnings about this should be provided in advance - Provide an estimate of how much Moldovan currency we'll need to bring to pay for the lunch and souvenirs - Tour guide should've been more informed about which locations allow photos and which don't (we got told off by a guard for taking photos of the stadium)

5.00The route corresponded well with what was informed in advance. Our guide Corneliu was flexible and accommodating. He told us about sights in a way that made it very easy to keep up with, we were a bit uncertain about the safety aspect of going to a contested area but we felt safe all the time. The border crossing went very quickly in both directions. Corneliu was also a very good driver and it never felt like he was going too fast.

5.00Great day. Marina was a fantastic guide - full of information and enthusiasm. Long day - we got back to Chisinau at 7.45pm - so it probably won't work if you've got a flight to catch! You'll need to exchange money for lunch - we changed 700 MLD and bought 2x beers; 2x soups; 1x dumplings and 2x puddings for lunch. We had spare for 3x dried caviar and a lot of chocolate! There was an additional opportunity to exchange money after lunch... Please note, you can not change the local currency back!
