This isn't your average walking tour of Melbourne.
This is the story of Melbourne – told by the women who shaped it.
Hidden amongst Parliament House, the Princess Theatre, Chinatown, and Little Lon are the stories of women who shaped Melbourne.
Walk through the heart of the city where women built hospitals, launched movements, soundtracked our streets, and transformed culture – often without recognition. From the steps of Parliament to tucked-away laneways, you’ll meet artists, agitators, entrepreneurs and everyday rebels who dared to speak up and shape the city around them.
Come ready to see Melbourne differently – and to carry these stories with you long after the walk ends. This tour will leave you feeling inspired, grounded, and ready to shape history yourself.

Would thoroughly recommend doing this walking tour. Catherine was a friendly, knowledgeable and funny tour guide who brought to life stories of the badass women who shaped history in Melbourne. The contributions of women in history have survived often through stories rather than in formal textbooks. Opportunities like this are critical to ensuring more people are aware of the invaluable contributions women have made to our cities, politics and culture. The tour was engaging, well paced, and genuinely eye-opening. I left feeling inspired and far more connected to Melbourne’s past through a lens that is so often overlooked.

Alison was our guide and we got a thorough dive into the stories we never knew growing up. Some familiar names from Australian history but lots of stories not shared enough - which make you look at the city in a new light. Great for all ages, wonderful way for our kids to hear stories they usually don’t - easy walk about 2.5 km over the two hour tour.

What an amazing walking tour! I'm so ashamed to have to admit that I hadn't heard of most of the women we talked about. Im now planning a trip to Canberra to do their tours up there in the capital!
