It takes 777 steps to reach the top of the mountain. After climbing the mountain, you will visit the well-known monastery, which is home of the spirits called "Nats", but also be rewarded by the magnificent views of the surrounding National park.

What To Expect
Mount Popa
You get picked up after breakfast at your hotel in Bagan to drive to Mount Popa. Upon arrival, you will be surprised about a large number of monkeys jumping and crossing your walkway, while climbing up the 777 steps to the top of the mountain. Take a walk around the monastery and enjoy the beauty of the panorama surrounding the National park of Mount Popa. After sightseeing, you will head back to Bagan. On the way, you visit a workshop that makes products made out of materials from palm trees. After that we will transfer to your hotel.

5.00The Mount Popa tour was the perfect balance of nature, culture, and calm. I wish I had more time, but still grateful to have seen it. The views were stunning, the climb not too hard, and our guide shared beautiful stories that added meaning to the place. He was such a wonderful host! A peaceful contrast to temple-hopping… highly recommended it!
