Bahrain National Museum
Bahrain National Museum: One of the first museums in the Gulf, the Bahrain National Museum opened in 1988. The site itself, on the edge of the sea, is a tremendous attraction, adding to its contemporary ambience which is influenced by the white travertine façade and dramatic courtyard decorated with contemporary sculptures. The exhibition halls showcase artefacts uncovered in the numerous archaeological sites in Bahrain and underpinning the longstanding history of the island. The rich collection covers 6000 years of Bahrain’s history. In addition to the archaeological exhibits, two halls are dedicated to local customs and traditions, featuring clothing, housing, rituals and traditional crafts.
Al-Fateh Grand Mosque
Ahmed Al Fateh Grand Mosque: Set against a backdrop of palm trees and the sea, the Grand Mosque strikes a beautiful picture. With its exquisite Bahraini architecture, crowned by the world's largest fiberglass dome and blessed with tranquility reserved for the holiest of holy places, the Grand Mosque truly lives up to its name. Though non-Muslim visitors are welcome, it is important to dress modestly, cover your head (for women) and take your shoes off before entering.

There was some uncertainty by the tour guide about the itinerary on this tour. Once that was sorted out after I showed my booking details, the tour went very well. Our tour guide, Abbas, was very good. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Bahrain, which we enjoyed a lot. He was very gracious throughout the tour. Our driver, Noor, was very good as well. We would highly recommend Anna’s as a tour guide.

The tour was fantastic. The agent responded well to my messages. The Guide Ms. Bharathi and Driver Mr. Khkttab were friendly and well guarded. My short visits were very enjoyable and I thoroughly covered everything.

Tour in Manama initially travelled by onibus where we visited the ancient Souq with its spice shops, dried fruits, delicious sweets besides picturesque streets. The second and third parts of the tour took us to the wonderful National Museum of Bahrain as well as a private boat ride to Bu Maher Fort on Muharraq Island.

I recommend to use a different agency because of the following: 1. This tour is more expensive as it is advertised as a "Private Tour". Nevertheless, we were picked up at the hotel and were introduced to other people. I asked the guide for clarification and he informed me that this is not a private tour and suggested to write an email to the agency - which I did directly after the tour. Although the agency confirmed that it was the "cheaper" group tour, they refused to transfer the difference of the prices. Furthermore, they were neither customer oriented nor cooperative as they did not reply to my email at the beginning and copy pasted the answers without answering my questions or read my arguments. 2. The tour itself is very stressful as you have no time to look around (e.g., in the museum). The tour guide follows a very strict time table which prevents customers from enjoying the tour / get a proper look at everything. As a result, you are running around without getting an impression of the history of the city. 3. I have to admit that the visit of the mosque is a highlight. However, this part of the tour is outsourced to the mosque itself and they provide a guide for 45 minutes.

Loved this half day tour. great guide very informative. Went to some of the more interesting places and it worked out better than taking expensive taxis everywhere. I would recommend this tour if you are there on a short stay and want to see the main historical sights or combine it with another half day tour to maximize the time spent on the island.

My tour guide. Abdulaziz Hassani, was magnificent...knowledgeable, helpful, joyful. Both tours were the best I have ever been on.
