Al-Fateh Grand Mosque
Ahmed Al Fateh Grand Mosque: Set against a backdrop of palm trees and the sea, the Grand Mosque strikes a beautiful picture. With its exquisite Bahraini architecture, crowned by the world's largest fiberglass dome and blessed with tranquility reserved for the holiest of holy places, the Grand Mosque truly lives up to its name. Though non-Muslim visitors are welcome, it is important to dress modestly, cover your head (for women) and take your shoes off before entering.
Bahrain National Museum
Bahrain National Museum: One of the first museums in the Gulf, the Bahrain National Museum opened in 1988. The site itself, on the edge of the sea, is a tremendous attraction, adding to its contemporary ambience which is influenced by the white travertine façade and dramatic courtyard decorated with contemporary sculptures. It’s the place to learn Bahrain's history, culture & traditions.

5.00Abdul Aziz Al Hassani with Farhat Tours was the best possible tour guide. He has such a wide knowledge of Bahrain, its history, cuisine and people. I met wonderful people and learned so much! All in one day. I saw the beautiful Ahmed Al-Fateh Mosque where I met a wonderful female guide Fatin who was very open to my asking questions about her faith and the mosque. The we went to the Bahrain National Museum - where I could have spent an entire day, then to a local market where Abdul showed me traditional Bahraini candies and spices and I met a wonderful young woman from Saudi who was also visiting! There are longer tours but the purpose for my being there only gave me the one day - so glad I took advantage of it and you will be too!
