What To Expect
Meet at the Malecón · 15 mins Meet your local guide at the iconic Malecón kiosk in La Paz to get acquainted and start the adventure. Drive to the trail · 30 mins Enjoy a scenic 30-minute drive through desert landscapes toward the trailhead, with your guide pointing out local flora and landmarks. Preparation and briefing · 15 mins Your guide will equip you with a backpack, water bottle, and hat, and provide a short safety and trail briefing before starting the hike. Hike to the viewpoint · 45 mins Begin the gentle ascent along a rocky trail, observing local plants, insects, and birds while learning about the area's ecosystem and history. Enjoy the view! · 30 mins Arrive at the viewpoint overlooking Balandra Bay’s seven beaches, iconic dune, and mangroves. Take time to relax, hydrate, have a light snack, and soak in the scenery. Hike back with the sunset · 30 mins Return along the trail as the sun sets, keeping an eye out for local wildlife and enjoying the changing colors of the desert and bay. Drive back to La Paz · 30 mins Conclude the experience with a scenic drive back to the Malecón, noticing how the landscape transforms under the dusk light.

5.00Highly recommend this hike! Alexia, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out a lot of different things along the trail. Pace was very manageable. The views along the trail are incredible and of course the sunset is the highlight. She also took pictures of my husband and me and shared them with us afterwards.

5.00Lovely hike to an overlook of Ballandra beach. Our guide was informative and kind. I highly recommend this hike for people who are just getting into hiking and have a decent amount of physical stamina.

5.00I did the "Balandra-Hiking" tour with Senda Experiencias and can only recommend it. The tour was very personal, I learned a lot about animals living there, the area, nature. The view is unique. It is a quiet place, you can see Balandra Beach and its different colors from above. The hike is easily done, but you should not be completely unsportsmanlike, limited or similar. Good sneakers make sense.:) 100% recommendation

5.00Great experience for us! Our guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and patient and had sharp eyes to point out wildlife. She brought plenty of water and healthy snacks and even had binoculars for us to use. Sunset was perfect end to 2025.

5.00Without a doubt this is an experience that must be missed on a trip to La Paz. I really liked that we were loaned a backpack with water bottle, headlamp and hat for hiking, as well as binoculars, was all I needed to enjoy the route. Alexia was our guide, she is super cool and very attentive, she took us to walk different points of the trail where we enjoyed the landscape and the sunset, amazing.
