The Banana Trip is a full day cultural tour in Pico island. Usually, we focus on the South coast of Pico island. We will learn about the wine culture and the UNESCO World Heritage vineyards landscape. And we will better understand the importance of the Azores Whaling culture, by visiting a few heritage sites, like the Whaling Museum. A traditional lunch is included at Lajes village. In between, we will appreciate several natural tide pools and visit the interior of the island, Pico Central Plateau. We call it Banana Trip, because the final goal is to visit our own banana plantation. To check and see if there’s a ripe bunch of bananas, ready to harvest. The Banana Trip is a private cultural tour in Pico island that offers an exclusive experience. The price includes all expenses from Faial island and back.

We did 2.5 days of touring with Pedro - the city of Horta, the Tour to Pico, and the Tour of Faial. Can't say enough positive things. He is so positive about where he lives, he personalized our tour, we say amazing highlights, beautiful scenery and learned alot about the places we saw. I would recommend him, and Our Island HIGHLY to anyone visiting the area.

We had a fantastic day with Pedro exploring Pico. He was super knowledgeable about both Pico and Faial— we were impressed specifically with his knowledge of the different plants on the island. He had lots of great stories about his experiences working on tours and film crews on the island. We had a blast playing “Pico Rainbow Hunters”, driving around to get the best pictures of rainbows. Highly recommend this tour, and check out other tours the company offers. If we had more time, we would have booked a hiking tour with Our Island in Faial.

We had two trips with Our Island and we loved them both! First one was a half-day trip in Faial and it was beautiful and Susana was very detailed about her island and the beautiful spots she showed us. The second trip was the banana trip and like the name says it was "bananas!!" We visited many different spots with Pedro, from sea swimming to bananas harvesting, we did it all. And even had the chance to interact with local cows and have a sneak peek of Pico top and check one cave before going home. Amazing, definitely recommend this to all visitors! You'll have a lot of fun!! Thank you guys for giving us great honeymoon memories!

On our second day in the Azores we took the all day tour of Pico. What a terrific introduction to the islands. Pedro is extremely knowledgeable and passionate with a welcome perspective on protecting the natural environment. The traditional vineyards on this island were an especially amazing site.
