Piazza dell'Odegitria
Our tour starts from Piazza dell'Odegitria, inside Bari Vecchia, the city's historic centre. Your local expert will be waiting for you at the palms near the Cathedral's front door. Let's the tour begin!
Cattedrale di San Sabino
On the way to the first stop on the tour, we pass the Cathedral of San Sabino. At the first stop, we will taste the typical Bari focaccia in one of the oldest bakeries in town. Focaccia barese is a delicious mixture of ground semolina, boiled potatoes, salt, yeast and water. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! Before baking it is covered with tomatoes and olives.

5.00Nicholas was a great guide! Not only did he give us the food tour, he told us all about the history of Bari as we walked through. We tried octopus and eggplant for the first time and loved it!

2.00Only four stops (one being gelato) - stuff you see in all the shops. Was disappointed we didn’t even stop to see orecchiette being made on a food tour this long. I didn’t feel like there were any “insider tips” or anything about specific special spots or dishes. I think this was about 20€ of food and we paid 120$ CAD (~80 euro).

5.00Most food tours give you a small amount of food to try, this gave large portions! We were very full by the end. Nicholas was great, gave us a lot of history and now we know how they kill the octopus!

5.00Our experience with Giuseppe was fantastic! He was very informative with the history of Bari. He took us to wonderful spots to eat, and helped us snap a few pics along the way, and we didn't feel rushed at all. I would highly suggest this tour!
