It's a 2 hour walking tour around the old city. There are lots of steps and hills. We went at a slow pace which worked out well. The guide was very knowledgeable.

Our guide, Michael, was professional, friendly and well informed. He was concerned with our comfort - to be sure the walking pace was comfortable for all. He happily offered to take our picture. All in all, a great experience.

The tour guide had an accident and cancelled at the last minute. They gave us a complete refund with no issues. We can’t review the actual tour.

Our tour guide Jana, is a wonderful, warm and friendly person ideally suited for her position. She provided us with insights "off the beaten path" of everyday life in the old part of town. It was a terrific 2 hours!

Our guide Kripa was very knowledgeable! We enjoyed her knowledge of the church, history of both sides of Basel ,old portion of old city wall, the fountain, the mural of music artists and many other sites we would have missed without her.

Our tour guide on our recent private tour of Basel was a very nice and enthusiastic guide who clearly wanted to provide us with a good tour. However she was lacking in a couple areas. First, she didn’t seem all that knowledgeable about Basel. We were expecting a coherent presentation about Basel’s history and perhaps Switzerland in general. A history spiel is the norm for walking tours, group or private. I learned more from my tour book. It was admittedly much easier to get from place to place but I’m sure we would have gotten there ourselves and saved $215. The other gaff worth mentioning is that we asked for a recommendation for a restaurant to have a traditional Swiss meal, hoping for some inside knowledge on a place offering good food at a reasonable price. She directed us to Walliser Kane which turned out be super expensive (64chf for schnitzel & fries!), clearly targeted at sucker tourists. We left after reading the menu and before ordering.

Despite very wet weather Michael gave us a superb cultural and historical tour around the old town and little Basel. It was totally absorbing, stimulating, informative and most enjoyable.

Our guide, Marc, was outstanding!!! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Basel. We had an elderly walker and Marc was very cognizant of that. He was personable, very easy to hear and understandable. We had a lovely day. He has a secret historical place to take you that few know about so you need to ask for him.
