It was an incredible experience and we are so blessed that Miller himself is part of the indigenous community which brought us lots of cultural insight. The views were beautiful and the people at the home stay are so kind. I definitely recommend this tour especially if you are able-bodied and looking for something to do in the north of the Philippines. My parents did it with me at almost 60-years-old so it’s challenging but absolutely doable and worthwhile. When else are you going to get a local so connected to the land to take you on an awesome tour like this?! Thank you Miller for the experience. It meant a lot to me and my parents and it was so special to us.

Impressive landscape and a very friendly people. Making the rails is not for everyone, it requires some physical preparation.

We had a fantastic day at the Batad Rice Terraces guided by the fabulous Miller. He was brilliant and can’t recommend his trip highly enough. He was super responsive to all communications and really flexible allowing us to change our itinerary at short notice. The hike is challenging but the scenery is stunning and having Miller able to share his own personal knowledge of the area made it so much more of an immersive experience. On route Miller also took us to his Father in law’s native home and we were able to experience first hand the daily routine of preparing the rice for the family meals. So stripping the dried rice bundles, then grinding and sifting to produce the rice grains ready to cook. Wow what hard work to witness !! After we walked across the rice terraces and down lots more steps to visit the waterfall. As it is quite off the beaten track there were very few tourists, but this made it all the more special for us and we definitely felt it was worth the journey and would highly recommend to anyone as it certainly is a very unique experience, especially with Miller.

We chose Banaue AdvenTours from the many guides on offer from the Internet because they responded so well to my request for an itinerary around Batad, Sagada and Banaue. We first of all communicated by email then WhatsApp. This is a husband and wife team and they are extremely helpful and freindly and speak very good English. They were both born and raised in the Banaue area, so are extremely knowledgeable about this stunning area. Miller helped me finalise an itinerary, which included: * being picked up at Cauayan airport and driven in a well-maintained minibus, with his guide wife, Brigette, to Batad; Miller (and their other driver Brian, are excellent, careful and safe drivers); * overnight stay at Simons Viewpoint, Batad; * fabulous walk with Brigette across the rice terraces to the Tappiyah waterfall and back, including a visit to her family home and seeing them thresh and pound rice from their terraces; drive to Sagada and stay at Rock Inn & Cafe; * drive to centre of Sagada, and walk to the hanging coffins, then a walk around Sagada town; drive to Banaue and 2 night stay at Baleh Boble Guest House; * drive over to Hapau in a Jeepney then walk across the rice terraces and back, to the Bogyah hot springs where we had a good, long soak; * transfer back to Cauayan airport. Total 4 nights. Brigette was our main guide throughout and we really enjoyed her lovely company (she hired other guides for us in Sagada and Hapau - they were also excellent). She was extremely knowledgeable (living and being brought up in the area) and took great care of us. She also assessed our "trekking ability" tailoring the routes to give us the best experience (we are experienced walkers and don't mind heights). We would highly recommend Banaue AdvenTours and would certainly use them again if we return to the area. Thanks so much Brigette and Miller! You helped make our holiday very special.

This was the best tour I went on in the Philippines. Our tour guide was phenomenal. Miller went out of his way to ensure that we arrived safely in Batad and taught us a lot about the culture and practices of the Ifugao community. We learned how to process rice by hand and took us on a 6 hour hike viewing all the best spots. Trust me, it was breathtaking in every direction. We stayed at Christina's Inn and her whole family took care of us. This is a 12 out of 10 experience that I will never forget

We were two French couples to be looked after by Miller for 3 days. I got in touch with him by whatsapp 4 months before our departure and our exchanges allowed us to refine our program and its services. We opted for a pick-up at the end of the morning at Cauayan airport after a 1 hour flight from Manila, with a 4 hour drive by van to Batad, which is less tiring than the 9 or 10 hour drive from Manila. Miller is a careful driver and the ride was very pleasant with rewarding exchanges about life in the Philippines, but we were struck by the huge damage caused by the typhoon of November 10, 2025 in the mountainous part. We spent our first night at the Hillside Lodge in Batad, whose comfort is sketchy but the atmosphere very friendly, with a magnificent view of the rice fields below. The morning excursion is exciting because Miller knows the history of the site and all its inhabitants, but it is reserved for good fit walkers because of the difference in level. The duration is adapted to the physical condition of the guests. In the afternoon, we took to the road to see the Banaue rice fields, with no new steps, and we slept and dined at Bogah Lodge. Return to Cauayan airport the next morning by van, with flight to Manila. In the end, this short trip perfectly organized in the rice fields will have marked us because Miller is a very endearing personality who defends and promotes his beautiful home region with love and conviction. And icing on the cake, the cost of its services discussed live is very attractive compared to the offers of travel agencies.

The experience with brigette and miller surpassed our expectations. First off our communication was seamless, Miller was very responsive to any questions prior to our visit. You do have to pay admission fees to visit which is not includes in the price however that is in the description and it is 100php and then 50php per person. Arrangements for pick up from our bus was all communicated prior thanks to miller. The experience itself was indescribable, Brigette took her time to explain their culture, their practices, spoke about native plants, all while leading us through the terraces. We visited the school, village and waterfalls. The trek itself involves alot pf steps so be prepared, brigette went at our pace with breaks as needed. We got to see how rice is traditionally processed at their family home. You can tell how much they value their work and their culture and it really showed. We felt right at home with them and would recommend the experience to everyone. Cannot thank them enough for this experience and recommend this to everyone. We were sad to go so early and would have stayed longer if we could for their multi day treks.

I had an excellent experience on the Batad guided tour with Miller. The rice terraces are breathtaking in any season and in any weather, and seeing them with a guide who is truly from the community makes a meaningful difference. Miller is a local and has deep knowledge of Batad and its surroundings. He did a wonderful job explaining the day-to-day life connected to these still-active, 2,000-year-old rice terraces, which added important cultural context to the experience. Despite inclement weather, he thoughtfully adjusted the hike to match my fitness level and ensured the day was both safe and enjoyable. In addition to Batad, Miller also included visits to the Bangaan and Ducligan terraces, which was a great bonus and gave a broader perspective of the region. Both Miller and his wife, Bridgette, are excellent guides: warm, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. They were also helpful in offering advice on transportation options for traveling to nearby provinces (I went to Sagada afterwards). I highly recommend this tour, especially if you are looking for an authentic, flexible, and community-rooted experience in the Ifugao region

Miller was a great guide to help get us to the Batad Rice Terraces! Highly recommend! He's very knowledgeable about the area, the people, and their history. He's a great person overall, very funny, and kind. The trek to the rice terraces is no easy feat. There are over 400+ VERTICAL stair steps that lead down to the terraces. It was very beautiful and definitely worth the trek, however, this hike itself is very challenging. This is not a good hike if you have bad knees or are afraid of heights. I have pretty strong legs, but after 100 or so stair steps, my knees and legs became jello and wobbly at every step. And remember, you'll have to climb back UP those same 400+ steps... This is probably one of the hardest hikes I've ever done. But 100% worth it. Miller is very accommodating and will hike at your pace. Definitely recommend booking with him. You won't be disappointed!

They know everyone in the area so you're always treated like a local. If you want more than just a few pics and interested in exploring the area, definitely book a tour w/ them.
