Battambang
Your journey starts with a brief introduction at the meeting point before a short walk to a nearby local market. Stroll through vibrant stalls, interact with local vendors, and handpick the ingredients that will bring your dishes to life. After the market visit, continue to your host’s home for the cooking class. In a friendly and relaxed setting, you’ll learn how to prepare two savory dishes and one traditional dessert. Your local instructor will guide you through each step, sharing practical tips and family cooking secrets. The menu highlights authentic Cambodian flavors, including crispy deep-fried spring rolls as a starter, the iconic steamed fish Amok as the main course, and a sweet treat known as Num Ple I, often compared to Cambodian mochi. Vegetarian alternatives are also available, using the same techniques and care. Once everything is ready, enjoy your homemade three-course meal in a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We were collected by Hai from our hotel and from the start her was engaging, friendly and very knowledgeable. He took us to the East markets and guided us around explaining all the weird and wonderful things there. We selected ingredients and he even encouraged us to try insects, the food of the future. From there, we went to his beautiful home and completed our cooking class. We were joined by Hai’s wife and eventually his daughters. This was an absolutely brilliant experience and we highly recommend anyone considering this to do it. Thank you Hai for your wonderful hospitality!

A really enjoyable experience seeing areas of the city you would never encounter by chance. Our guide Vichet was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. It was quite a long tiring walk but certainly wouldn't have missed it. Well worth it.

Great tohr with Martin, I really recommend this. He gave us really detailed but accessible information on Cambodia's history, helping me to understand the current political and social context. He also took us to some amazing street food places, gave us restaurant recs and helped us to understand so much about Camdodia, including answering our endless questions. It was a great experience despite the torrential rain (Martin even went to buy us ponchos). Do this tour at the start of your Cambodia trip!

Martin is a fantastic guide. We learned so much and he happily answered our many questions. I would absolutely recommend this tour, even if you only have a short amount of time in Phnom Penh, it gave us a wonderful introduction to the city and the country

Sovann was an amazing guide! He told us many stories about the history of Cambodia and personal stories of his family. He supports responsible travel and told us that a portion of our tour fee goes to local cafes. Walking through the alleys, we saw people hanging up colourful flags in preparation for the Cambodian New Year, people getting manicures, and children running around with water guns. He also brought us to try local delicacies, including tarantulas, crickets, Kampot red pepper, shrimp crackers, and grilled bananas with sticky rice. To finish the tour, he gave us recommendations for the rest of our trip. We were very lucky to have him as our guide!

Gives you an overall view of the city, that gives you a feel for the city and an orientation of were things are located. The guide could have been a little more engaging in general Cambodian life other than that he told you lots of historical information
