Ludwig the II’s life and ambitions are renown for their grandeur, intrigue, and fantasy. His unfinished masterpiece Neuschwanstein Castle, inspired the likes of the Walt Disney logo and the motion picture Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Once done at the castle we make our way to some of my favourite beer gardens and breweries where we discuss the history, culture, and tastes of Bavaria's beloved beverage; beer.

The castle itself is spectacular. And you can certainly visit the castle on your own. But to push your experience from average to Awesome, hire Jake as your guide. He is funny, tells the best stories and will make you feel like you have known him forever. We had people listening in from other groups, because Jakes stories were that entertaining. And there are some added extras such as the mountain slalom course that he took us on that made the trip all that more special. Our group size was 18 people and it was a private tour. But even if your tour is added to those you dont know, I guarantee you will be laughing, while enjoying the scenery.

Have you ever left a broadway play and left thinking "how do they put that much passion and energy into each performance every night?" That's how I felt after this tour. Jakes passion for European history shows. His delivery is so practiced that theres never a hesitation that isn't intentional. Ask any question and he has an answer. Jake grew up in the US, but also speaks Italian and German. I started referring to him as "The Mayor" because everyone knew him and greeted him warmly wherever we went. It was a great day.

Jake was amazing! We were a party of 3 and we combined with a party of 9. He is so well versed in Ludwig, the castle, the monastery and surrounding area. We totally enjoyed his style of providing a history lesson! We were all drawn into the discussion as if we were characters in a play. The sights are beautiful, (do walk all the way across Mary's bridge for a spectacular view!) I have been on my share of tours and Jake was really one of the best. He is from the U.S.,so no German accent!!! Great guy, great tour. I would recommend any tour he or his company offers!
