We are one of the few locally owned/operated surf schools on the North Shore of Oahu. We have been teaching surfing for over 20 years and love to pass on our knowledge of surfing to anyone willing to learn! There is no better place to learn how to surf then the birth place of surfing! Lessons are for for all ages and all levels. Surfboard and rash guard will be provided for the lesson. The beach we teach at is also a very popular beach for seeing turtles, I'm sure we will see a few during our surf lesson. Learn from the best and come surf with us! We are also one of the only surf schools with fluent Japanese speaking instructors!

What To Expect
We teach people the beautiful sport of surfing! We teach kids, adults, or anyone that wants to learn how to surf! From all levels beginner to advance! No better place to learn how to surf than the birth place of surfing! For group lessons its 2 hours but if its just one on one (student and instructor) it'll be 1 hour because it will be a private lesson. Just you and the instructor. We guarantee you will get just as much waves either way! Mahalo!

5.00This was my first time trying to surf, coming from a snowboarding background, and it was a great time. I was able to stand on the board immediately and ride a little wave. The instructor was a really experienced surfer with great instructions and was really positive the whole time. Definitely recommend checking these guys out if it's your first time surfing or if you need some help improving your skill.

5.00All instruction and timing for the ride was handled in Japanese. As I was alone, there was no one to look at my luggage, but I was given it. They also told me beforehand where to change.

5.00Instructors Keoni and Kalani were exactly what my family and I needed to catch our first waves! They both were very encouraging and accommodating on the water. They seemed to know how to give us just the right amount of information to improve our technique without overloading us or making us get stuck in our heads. They really impressed upon me the spirit of surfing in relaxing into it, only good vibes here. I could not have stayed on the water as long as I did without these guys as well! They do so much of the heavy lifting to get you straight into the action of catching waves. They help you get momentum to catch the wave, they help tow you out into the water and back into position after catching a wave (praise be these men’s back muscles). I really appreciate how they took care of my mom during the lesson. After she had been surfing for a while, (caught a wave on her first try thanks to these guys by the way!) she decided that she’d had enough but wanted to stay on the water to watch. And they towed her around on her board to all the different spots we went and made sure she had a good view all while making sure the rest of us kept catching waves. They made her feel so safe and included and that meant the world to me. The location couldn’t have been better when we went as well! The waves were very exciting without being intimidating or boring, it struck the perfect balance for us. The beach and water were beautiful. I even saw a sea turtle while I was on a wave! A truly magical experience. Banzai Surf School gave us an unforgettable day on the North Shore and I cannot recommend them enough!
