I had a wonderful guided tour of the Forbidden City today and can genuinely recommend this experience. Our guide Marco is a local from Beijing, speaks very good English, and was extremely friendly and open. From the very beginning, he created a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, so it was easy to ask questions and stay engaged throughout the tour. The excursion was very informative. I learned a lot about Chinese history, the emperors, palace life, symbols, and traditions. The guide didn’t just recite facts, but explained the context and meaning behind many details, which made the Forbidden City feel truly alive rather than just a beautiful historical site. Explanations were clear, and it never felt rushed or boring. You can really feel that he knows the history deeply and enjoys sharing it. If you want a knowledgeable, friendly local guide who speaks good English and makes the Forbidden City easy to understand and interesting, I would absolutely recommend this tour.

Marco is an excellent guide. Although both my son and I have been to the Forbidden City before, this is the first time we’ve ever had a tour guide. Marco is very knowledgeable. He gave us new perspectives on the Palace’s history. I asked many questions that he answered without hesitation. I can’t recommend him enough as an amazing English speaking tour guide.

We did a tour at the Forbidden City this afternoon (30/12/25). Marco was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions we threw at him. He kept the tour on schedule. We explored a lot despite the limited time we had, before the site closed. He also suggested us a great destination to oversee the forbidden city, and avoiding the crowds
