We had the tour with Sofia. This was a small group and they bought the tickets for us at the entrance.

Very interesting but quite a slog, it gets very hot and crowded. For the most part there is no access into the buildings themselves. Definitely bring water and a sun umbrella or hat. Our guide Sofia was very efficient at getting us through the crowds and had great knowledge of the history. Her English was very good although some of our group had difficulty with her accent.

I had them book a ticket for me because I'm a very busy and very forgetful person and I didn't want to risk forgetting. Booked a ticket to just the Forbidden City and no problems going in. They were communicative once they did the ticket and when I went to the gate with my passport no problem at all :)

My guide was Sofia, and she was absolutely fantastic! She was incredibly knowledgeable, answering all of my questions. She was also helpful navigating the ticket collection process, the security checks and generally making sure that the group stuck together. She was also incredibly kind when I had trouble making it to the meeting point, and truly went above and beyond to facilitate the tour. Thank you!

Beijing Forbidden City, a most go to when staying in Beijing. We only had 2 days planned in Beijing and as an introduction it was good. One morning is enough in March. It is cold and misty but less busy. There is a new part open with their ceramics which is amazing to see. On Mondays it is closed so when on a Monday in Beijing, go and visit the wall.
