You will visit Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tombs with 2 options. Please check each option's details for specific inclusions. Route A: a private car with Basic English speaking Driver Route B: a private car with English speaking Tourguide this 2 options are all available pick you up at your located places in Beijing and all options include Mutianyu Great Wall entrance ticket, Mutianyu internal shuttle bus for uphill and downhill, also include Tomb Ding's entrance ticket, just one option with tourguide, one option without tourguide.
Mutianyu Great Wall
The Mutianyu Great Wall is about 70 to 75 kms away from downtown of Beijing, it takes about 1.5hours by car, but during holidays and weekends recommend you leave earlier to avoid traffic and crowd. The Mutianyu Great Wall winds through the high mountains and deep valleys, offering a wide view and breathtaking scenery. While strolling along the Great Wall, you can fully enjoy the undulating mountains and dense forests, and feel the grandeur of nature and the ancient beauty of the Great Wall. Here is the unique Zhengguan Terrace. Three watchtowers stand side by side on one platform, which is extremely rare in the Great Wall. The watchtowers of the Great Wall are densely distributed, with one watchtower approximately every hundred meters. There are also precipitous landscapes such as the "Ox Horn Side" and the "Eagle's Inverted Flight". There are crenellations on both sides of the Great Wall, and the wall is well-preserved, vividly demonstrating the ancient charm of the Great Wall.

Amazing early bird experience at the Great Wall of China

5.00When we came down to our hotel lobby in the morning at the arranged time (6am instead of 10am), Adele our tour guide was already waiting for us. We were welcomed into a really nice car with comfortable seats and a mini fridge filled with water. The drive to Mutianyu took a little bit more than an hour. Adele used the time during the drive to give us background information on chinese history and the building of the Great Wall of China. At Mutianyu she came up to the wall with us and took lots of pictures and gave more details about the wall. Since we started so early, because of Linda's suggestion, we beat the crowds! Once we wanted to leave, Adele recommended to take the slide down, which was a lot of fun. We left the wall just as the masses of tourists arrived and then we went to Ming Tomb, which took around 40min by car. She walked into the tomb with us while explaining everything in detail. After visiting the tomb we drove back to Beijing. she gave us some recommendations on where to go next and where to eat and they even dropped us off close to where we wanted to go instead of dropping us at our hotel.

5.00We had a perfect day from start to finish. Linda recommended we head to mutianyu early because of the May holidays, and Angie collected us from our hotel right on time. Angie thoughtfully had dumplings for us for breakfast with the early start. We got to the great wall before it opened and were the first up on the chair lift beating all the holiday queues! We had plenty of time on the wall and enjoyed the toboggan down. Angie was fabulous, perfect English and great company. We learned loads about Chinese history and culture. We also enjoyed the Ming tombs and the other stops on the way :)

5.00Angie our tour guide was fantastic, very caring, informative and knowledgeable. She and our driver ensured that our trip to the Great Wall was enjoyable as possible. Linda arranged for VIP transfer at Mutianyu. The weather made it mystical. One could almost expect a dragon or a phoenix to appear anytime. Highly recommend, although I would skip the Ming tombs.

5.00We booked the Mutianyu Great Wall Private Tour with Best English-Speaking Driver, and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. Davis was absolutely amazing — truly the man! Super attentive, friendly, and always making sure we were comfortable and having a great time. His English is excellent, and he made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. And Linda was also wonderful — incredibly kind, helpful, and an absolute delight throughout the tour. We genuinely had an unforgettable day thanks to both of them. Highly recommended!

5.00Everything was well organized and quick. I booked the tour the day before, and I almost immediately received confirmation of my booking. I paid around 10% upfront and the rest was paid the next day (I paid through WeChat, but I know there are other payment methods). The next day, at the agreed time, the driver was there at our hotel in Beijing (he actually arrived well in advance) and took us to the Great Wall as planned. Linda and the driver helped us book all the tickets, which saved us time by avoiding lines upon arrival (Which in our case were inexistant thanks to Linda's advice to leave earlier from the hotel!) The car was clean, and the driver was very nice. Water was available for us during the trip, and everything was done to make the trip very comfortable. He drove us safely and helped us get directly to the attraction. While we were sightseeing, he waited for us at the agreed spot, and we found him immediately as planned. He took us back to our hotel after the sightseeing. Special thanks to Linda for the tip to leave earlier in the morning to avoid the crowd! You might initially feel unhappy about waking up early, but it really is worth it! I recommend both Linda and the driver we had. If I plan another tour in Beijing, I will definitely look for them first. (Don't forget to tip the driver when you return to your hotel because he will not ask for it.)

She is a professional guide with strong communication, storytelling skills and knowledge about history of China. Possess a deep understanding of the history, culture, geography, and landmarks of the tour destination. She creates welcoming atmosphere and engages guests with compelling narratives. 5.00This was a great tour. My guide Melody spoke great English and is personable. Mutianyu had very few tourists while we were there, due to its remoteness. I took excellent photos there. The drive there is peaceful and scenic. The car was clean and the driver was professional. The Ming tomb was also in a quiet, serene area with few tourists. I learned a great deal about the early history of the Ming Dynasty. The tour was worth every penny. Highly recommended!
