We had an excellent experience with Catherine Lu tours. Two full days to see all the sights. The tour was very well organized, with everything taken care of. Our guide Sonia was very efficient and knowledgeable and made our visit so interesting. The lunch both days was also very good, with delicious and fresh food, she took us to local eateries, which we would never have known on our own. I highly recommend Catherine Lu tours and I would use them again if I visit China again.

I am so glad we booked a two-day tour with Catherine Lu Tours. The communication leading up to the trip was seamless; her team stayed in constant contact via WhatsApp and WeChat to ensure every detail was clear. Our guide, Cactus, was phenomenal. Her English is excellent—which is a huge asset in China—and she was always punctual. She went above and beyond her role by teaching our daughter Chinese words, giving her a chance to practice what she learns at school in a real-world setting. We covered an incredible amount of ground: Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Hutongs on Day 1, followed by the Mutianyu Great Wall and the Summer Palace on Day 2. Attempting this on your own would easily take four days, but with a private driver and Cactus’s expertise, we bypassed the crowds entirely. By following their advice to leave early, we had virtually no queues at Mutianyu. The logistics were top-notch: the 7-seater Buick was very comfortable, and our driver handled the hectic Beijing traffic expertly. Cactus also selected two wonderful local restaurants that perfectly matched our tastes. She was incredibly patient while we browsed souvenir shops and even helped us translate with shopkeepers. Highly recommended!

We visited Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutong, Temple of Heaven, Great Wall, Summer Palace, tea ceremony, Bird’s Nest and Water Cube in Olympic village, and jade shop with Jenny as our guide. Jenny was very personable, knowledgeable, and so very nice. She made our two day visit to Beijing a super fun journey! We would definitely recommend her to everyone, and when we return we will use her again!

We loved Lena from Catherine Lu Tours. She was knowledgeable, personable and friendly. Her English was flawless and she helped us navigate the city and all the sights with ease. She had deep knowledge of the city, and asked us if we wanted to see something specifically or take our time exploring. We never felt rushed. The logistics were also seamless. The drivers were consistently on time for airport and station transfers, the cars were very comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of having water available. I am a vegetarian, but thanks to the guide, she took us to the restaurants that had vegetarian options. We were able to try good local cuisine.

His English is grear, and his genuine passion for Chinese culture turned a standard sightseeing tour into a deeply educational and personal experience. Had a great experience setting up this Beijing tour--Catherine was an all-star and really accommodating every step of the way. At first, I thought it was a tad pricy BUT it was really worth it in the end. The tour guide, Adam, was truly superb: He was knowledgeable, fluent in English, expertly navigated us through extremely busy areas with HUGE lines, and with delicacy and tact described various cultural/political/historical events that related to China and Beijing. (And, he took excellent photos as well.) Adam really made this experience as special as it was. Best tour guide ever! We visited the Forbidden City and the Great Wall and at both destinations I felt wonderfully supported and so happy to be visiting these amazing sites. The driver hired was good, prompt, and safe.

Very nice visit to the forbidden city and the great wall in excellent conditions. A special mention for our guide Tony, an exceptional Francophone guide, like few we meet. He is at the same time friendly, caring, cultured and speaking perfect French. He taught us a lot about his city and his country but also helped us a lot with the multiple computer applications, Chinese. It will undeniably remain linked to the excellent memory we will keep of the city.

We had a wonderful private tour in Beijing. We had Sonnie as our tour guide. She explained things to us, answered our questions, helped us find yummy food and was all around and A+ guide! Also as part of the private tour we included a photographer to do a photoshoot of us at the Great Wall. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience that I will forever cherish! Catherine Lu Tours was a fantastic choice for our family, making our first time in China a great experience.
