Temple of Heaven
Temple of Heaven is the largest Imperial place of worship from ancient times, which is a place for ancient Ming and Qing dynasties emperors pray for good harvest. Now, it is also a park where the local community utilizes this beautiful and enormous space for social activities such as singing, dancing, and Tai chi practice exercise.
The Palace Museum
Forbidden City, the largest Imperial Palace in the world. You will spend a couple of hours wandering around this amazing example of Imperial architecture and learning about the history of the palace. For around 500 years , it served as the home of emperors and their households from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government. Tour route: Forbidden City is divided into two parts. The southern section, or the Outer Court was where the emperor exercised his supreme power over the nation. The northern section, or the Inner Court was where he lived with his royal family.
Shichahai Scenic Resort
Hutong is a Mongolian word meaning water well. At nine meters (about 30 feet) wide, it is the name given to a lane or small street that originated during the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368). Walk around old Beijing hutong nearby Shichahai Lake. Now they have become representatives of local culture, thus it is still the first choice for people who would like to learn about the local history and culture.

After hiking, You will have option of an exhilarating toboggan ride back down or just simply return the way you came.

5.00We travelled from Northern Ireland to Beijing on 9th June 2026. We booked a two day tour directly through Catherine Lu Tours. We were blown away by the amazing service we received. A representative from Catherine Lu tours contacted us frequently via email and then through WeChat to arrange pick up at the hotel. Jenny was our assigned tour guide. Jenny was so friendly, spoke perfect English, and was very knowledgeable. A guide is a must do in China. If I ever travelled back to China I wouldn’t use any other company and would love to have Jenny as a guide again!.

5.00Having done alot of research Catherine Lu tours kept coming up as highly recommended online. We had a tour of 4. ( 2 couples) I sent an email directly and booked everything in with them before our trip . It couldn't have been easier to liaise with them and they were upfront about their costs and what was included. We then met our Tour guide Jenny, she was amazing from start to finish, Jenny was friendly and provided a real good insight into chinese life and was also knowledgeable of various historical facts about the sights we visited. She was very friendly and keen to chat with us about our travels and made our 2 day tour trip flow perfectly and even gave some of her own reccommendations for the rest of our trip. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend her or request her company again if we ever return. The two whole days were covered expertly and well organised . Don't hesitate to book if your considering it, professional, friendly and an enjoyable experience overall .

5.00We booked the tour with very short notice the night before and received excellent service from Catherine. Our tour guide Bill was exceptional. He made sure that access to the venues were fast and easy. He is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It felt like a friend taking us on a tour through Beijing. Our driver was calm and we felt very safe all the time. We truly enjoyed this tour and will book with Catherine and her team again in the future.

5.00Excellent tour experience in the Great Wall and Forbidden City. I had a private tour with Justin, who was a fantastic guide. Logistics were all handled by the company ahead of time and smoothly on the day of the tours. He knew exactly where to go to maximize the quality of the experience based on what I was interested in, and gave me plenty of time to explore at my own pace. I also had a local food experience included, which I strongly recommend. Justin clearly knows food and brought me to some great restaurants and ordered perfectly based on my preferences. Overall 5/5 star experience with Catherine Lu.
