History and hospitality...two words that have been at the foundation of Belle Meade for over 200 years. In the 1800s, Belle Meade was one of the largest and wealthiest private estates in Nashville, raising the nation's finest thoroughbred race horses. Having hosted celebrities, presidents, generals, and a wealth of revered turfmen, Belle Meade became Nashville's first attraction. Located just seven miles west of downtown Nashville, today this sanctuary of Southern hospitality offers Guided Tours, Food and Wine Pairings, Bourbon Tastings, outstanding Gift Shops, Nashville's first Winery, an on-site Restaurant, an Outdoor Game Court, and some of the most beautiful Grounds in Nashville.

  • Informative and fun tour

The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the residents of the home and the time period of history. The wine tasting was fun and informative. Wines are available to purchase but thankfully there was not an aggressive sales pitch. We walked the grounds and visited some of the other structures on the property. I would recommend this tour.

The mansion and its history were both interesting and beautiful. The wine was delicious, I definitely recommend the blackberry and the red muscadine wines if you like sweeter wines.

Our tour of Belle Meade Mansion was great fun! Our tour guide had such great energy and provided interesting history. She was able to answer all our questions and added fun tidbits of info. The wine tasting afterwards was a fun touch, and we ended up bringing Belle Meade wine home!

I’ve done this tour 5 times now, always bringing new people along. This has been my absolute favorite tour yet and that’s due to the fact of Bella. She is absolutely wonderful be sure to ask for her when you get a tour here.

Tour guide was knowledgeable and did a good job. I expected more Christmas decorations for such a beautiful home. Decorations were quite pitiful. So much more could be done to turn this lovely home into a Hallmark Christmas destination.

  • Truthful historic displays.

A historic place that is very well restored. The people who worked here knew how to make a person feel welcome. Teagan (*spelling? ) was my tour guide. She has talent and friendliness. I enjoyed her talk. The grounds and educational displays were informative and disturbing. As they should be. There was nothing glorious about the way the prosperity of the John Hardin era was built on enslaving and overworking the people who made this place work. I am glad the truth was told about that. The details about the horses and dairy were also prominent, and I liked seeing all the horse drawn vehicles on display, but the enslaved people stories kept me in a mindful and somber mood regarding my visit to this place. That's only right.
