Berat Castle

Ancient fortress walls dating back to the 4th century BC, with later Byzantine and Ottoman additions. Panoramic views over the Osum River, the Gorica quarter, and the surrounding mountains. Old churches with beautiful frescoes, such as the Church of St. Mary of Blachernae and the Church of St. Trinity. Onufri Museum, located in the Church of St. Mary, featuring vibrant Orthodox icons by the famous 16th-century painter Onufri. Traditional stone houses still inhabited by locals inside the castle walls. Cobbled streets that feel like stepping back in time. Ottoman-era mosques and other historical structures scattered within the fortress grounds.

Quarter Of Mangalem

Rows of white Ottoman-era houses with large windows stacked on the hillside, giving Berat its nickname “The City of a Thousand Windows.” Narrow cobbled streets perfect for exploring on foot. Historic mosques such as the Lead Mosque (Xhamia e Plumbit) and the King’s Mosque (Xhamia e Mbretit). Small artisan shops and local cafés tucked between old stone walls. Well-preserved Ottoman-era stone houses with distinctive stone roofs and wooden balconies. Cobbled streets winding up and down the hillside. Bazaar area with artisan shops selling carpets, embroidery, and handmade souvenirs. Historic mosques such as the Bazaar Mosque. Small cafés and traditional eateries serving local specialties. Skenduli House

A beautifully preserved 18th-century Ottoman merchant’s house showcasing traditional architecture. Thick stone walls and wooden interiors with carved details. Period furniture and household items giving insight into daily life centuries ago. A cozy courtyard and garden where the family once lived. Amazing views of the old town and castle from the windows. Stories of the Skenduli family and their role in Gjirokastër’s history.

    Elidon is a greater guide We went to the castle of aberat city at first palce. It was a really good experience there. After that we went to Gjirokastra city. The fod there was really really tasty I had a really good experience I'm still waiting for another trip like this
