5.00The canal cruise was definitely the highlight, the atmosphere of the city from the water is totally different. Even though it was a busy Saturday, the experience felt personal and never rushed. The length of visit was normal for seeing the main squares and the hidden backstreets.

The narrative, which explained not just what things are but also why they are important, was that caught my attention. I felt educated as I left.

5.00In the summer, everyone sees Bruges. It was the dead of winter when I went. There were only few of us on the tour, so it was small. Steam Rose from our hot chocolate breaks, the edges of the canals were iced, and the Gothic building appeared even more striking in the gray sky. It was a much more atmospheric, slower, and quieter experience. The key is Bruges during the off season.
For me it was relaxed day.

5.00Our bus was parked at the terminal which was a relief as the port district is rather confusing and industrial. Beatrice was like an automatic clock, he made sure we were not only allowed to have a very nice bowl of mussels with a very nice Belgian drink. At the end we made it back to the ship with a lot of time left over.

Tommaso, our guide, was wonderful. He took the time to answer every question and made it very simple to understand. Though I was traveling by myself, I felt ease with the group.
