The One Tour You Shouldn't Miss in Taipei
If it’s your first time in Taipei and not sure where to begin — this ride is where you start.
We’re the team behind Surcle — a group of bike lovers, designers, and curious locals who believe the best way to feel a city is to ride through it.
This isn’t a typical bike tour. It's a thoughtfully designed experience that gives you an insider’s view of the city: from bustling markets to quiet alleys, neighborhood temples to local cafés, you’ll see how Taipei wakes up, eats, and flows through the day.
We start with a Taiwanese breakfast, then glide through hidden backstreets and cultural spots, sharing the stories behind the places we visit. It’s a slow, immersive journey full of small surprises—connecting you with the heartbeat of Taipei.
Perfect for design lovers, food explorers, slow travelers, and anyone who wants to understand Taipei beyond the postcard version.
Small group only. Premium E-bike and gear — no sweat, just pure adventure.

Traditional Taiwanese Breakfast A classic way to start the day in Taiwan. Fresh soy milk served with crispy youtiao (fried dough), savory dan bing (egg crepes), or flaky shaobing (flatbread). Simple, satisfying, and full of local flavor.
A cozy café that roasts its own beans. We’ll taste a few different kinds of coffee, each made from a different bean to highlight unique flavors. The barista, who’s also a certified coffee judge, will share more about the beans, roasting process, and flavor notes.

Magical day! VERY local breakfast, lunch and snacks (made the veg for me). Well designed e-bike so you can get a workout or turn it up to 3 and break no sweat. My group was perfect (3 other attendees). I learned a lot about the history and saw some places I didn’t see in the guidebook. Definitely recommend.

This isn’t just any bike tour. The bike itself is an experience which made this standout to me in unexpected ways, making it one of the TOP highlights of my travels to Taiwan. Anyone with love for cycling should 100% sign up and experience a smooth ride on a styling minimalist e-bike. Now that my praises for the bike are out of the way, Tommy, our host was truly our best friend for the day. We covered a lot of places, hidden gems, EXCELLENT food, local sights, true Taipei living culture. I’d have not been able to experience and explore such beautiful places on my own. And the ride itself was wonderful, safe, well directed. Taipei is super flat so it doesn’t exert any stress. The bike is great, I already mentioned that! The whole thing is worth every penny. Tommy’s company is memorable. Just make sure you are well rested before this tour, not jet lagged, that way you can be more engaged because it does demand full energy, not just physical but mental and social as well.

An aptly named review! I had an awesome time on this e-bike tour with Tommy. He’s very easy to be around — personable, smart, and approachable. He knows Taipei really well, and was happy to chat about anything. He met me (a group of one) in the rain and STILL took me on the tour. The guy has got character. We covered a mix of local neighborhoods, markets, and food spots that I certainly wouldn’t have found on my own. To me, this was a near perfect tour. I learned a ton while not feeling overwhelmed. Not just facts, but feelings and perceptions. It felt less like a “tour” and more like spending a few hours exploring the city with a very knowledgeable friend. Very good value for the cost. Highly recommend this if you want to see a more local side of Taipei. Finally I feel I need to give a shout out to the bikes themselves. They’re made by one of Tommy’s companies, SURCLE, in Taiwan. Extremely well designed - smooth and lightweight. Made the whole ride feel effortless. I’d buy one if he'd ship to NYC! Thanks again for a great morning.

We loved this tour , seeing Taipei through the eyes of a local. Tommy was amazing, taking us to many different view points and sharing food experiences with us, not to forget great coffee stop too. Although these tours seem expensive, we think our experiences gained made it well worth the money. We would highly recommend

Tommy, the owner and creator of these out-of-this-world e-bikes, led our small group on an amazing tour of Taipei — showing us sides of the city you’d easily miss if you stuck to the usual tourist routes. It was such a friendly and personal experience, visiting some of Tommy’s favourite local spots and seeing the city through his eyes. His enthusiasm and local insight really shone through, allowing the group not only to learn about Taipei but also to get to know him and his passion for the city. I honestly can’t recommend this tour enough! If you’re in Taipei and have the time, book this tour. You don’t need to be super fit either — the e-bikes are effortless and make the ride a breeze. It’s easily one of the best bike tours I’ve been on in all my travels around this rock in space.

This is a must-do if visiting Taipei! The city is very friendly to biking and it will give you a great outlook of the city. If you want to fall in love with this city, follow Tommy on his e-bike (designed by himself nonetheless!) and he will give you the highlights of Taipei’s history, show you the underrated areas AND the hidden spots for food … if you like to eat, then you’re in for a great! Couldn’t recommend more

Our 4-person group had a great time on this e-bike tour with Tommy. He showed us many different neighborhoods of Taipei, and we had delicious breakfast, lunch, and drinks. Even though the temperature was high for us around 35 degC the shady e-bike riding was pleasant and Tommy made sure we had plenty of water breaks to cool off. The Surcle bikes themselves were easy to learn to ride, comfortable, and lightweight!

Tommy was the most amazing tour guide. He was very interactive. We got to see Taipei from a local perspective and try and do things that we would have never have been able to do without him. He was extremely accomodating to everyone’s preferences. We learnt lots about the history, food and daily life of the locals. The bikes were amazing to ride as well. Thank you so much for the amazing tour. Best tour we’ve ever booked!

Tommy and his Surcle electric bikes were extraordinary. Amazing insight into life using backstreets, finding interesting/eclectic eateries for us to experience Taiwanese life and food. Tommy made the tour very interactive, his knowledge of areas in Taipei, of history, of food and his super friendly style made the tour special. Tommy included many stops in the hot weather of July, always finding a cool breeze by the river or in an aircon building. So many great sights included abs lots of food abs drinks included. Thank you Tommy, we loved our e-bike city tour
