The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the site now occupied by the Cittadella is believed to have been the acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of Gaulos or Glauconis Civitas

2.00Beautiful water but overcrowded. We still visited in preseason, April. Terrible what crowds and chaos. All vloggers, people walk everywhere and nowhere. Drink from a pineapple 10euro. Such a shame about this Ydillian place.
