What To Expect
Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Saigon Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

5.00This was simply one the best tours we have ever done. Everything from pickup to drop-off went so smooth and seamlessly. We modified the tour a bit to see a few places not on the itinerary but still made it well within the estimated time for the tour. Our tour guide was awesome and spoke nearly perfect English. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone!

5.00This was an amazing tour. Our guide, Evelyn, and her driver met us at the port exactly on time. We made the drive into HCMC in a clean and air conditioned car and started what turned out to be one of the most informative and exciting tours of our trip. Evelyn gave us so much history and information about the city, and the Vietnamese culture. The lunch was provided and it didn’t disappoint. True Vietnamese cuisine in a perfect location downtown. We were absolutely delighted with the entire day. Evelyn was fluent in English and very easy to understand availing us to more complex discussions about the culture. We weren’t interested in a few sites on the itinerary and Evelyn quickly assessed our interest and modified the day with points of interest we really enjoyed. We would highly recommend this trip for anyone interested in a great city tour of HCMC!!

5.00We had a great day with our guide Anna. Anna is very knowledgeable about everything you can imagine in Saigon. She has a wonderful friendly personality as well. Insight to everything we saw. We had seen a few things yesterday and she was very flexible about modifying the trip and doing what we wanted to do. So we went to the sky tower, which is not listed as one of the events and it was great. She fed us a delicious lunch and bought us coffee when we stopped for coffee. After all the sightseeing was just about done she took us to the chocolate store, which was unexpected but great. our driver, Que did a great job of navigating the busy and somewhat crazy streets of Saigon. When Anne called him that we were ready to be picked up he was always there within two or three minutes. Overall, it was definitely a five star day may possible by Anna and Que.

5.00It’s all about the guide. Bruno did a great job. He was very energetic. He gave facts, opinions and an overall view of Viet Nam today. In some ways there are many depressing things to see in visiting Ho Chi Minh City. But there is also a sense of improvement. We visited the war museum, the imperial palace and saw sites of the city. We also tried some of their food in a local restaurant. The tour was excellent.

5.00It gives you a good general tour of Ho Chi Min. The car was comfortable and clean with lots of legroom. Our tour guide VIN was very eager to please and did a fantastic job. Our driver was excellent as well.

5.00Our tour guide, We (and our driver) were amazing! We had an idea of what we wanted to see and experience, and We was there to make suggestions to make it even better. I highly recommend him and this tour, as it was a way to see the city without needing to share the experience with a bus group of strangers. 10/10!

5.00Peter did a great job with the tour of Ho Chi Minh city. Brought us to the normal tourist places but also to a very local experience for lunch for some fantastic authentic Pho and to a customized coffee shop for very special coffee. Would highly recommend Peter and Maximus travel!

5.00Kai was an excellent guide who spoke exceptional English. we had good discussions with him about lots of topics as he guided us adeptly around the city to all the sights in the listed itinerary. We stopped for coffee and he advised on a delicious lunch choice. The tour exceeded our expectations and he helped us feel very comfortable with our first visit to Vietnam.
