What To Expect
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

5.00We are from Florida USA and first time in Ho Chi minh and we used this agency. Tourguide Qui and the driver Vinh were phenomenal. Qui was very knowledgeable and has a great personality. He shared with us the history of the place and we very quickly became immersed in the beautiful Vietnamese culture. He showed us all the landmarks in Ho Chi Minh and he and the driver coordinated our drop off and pickup at each location. It was really a VIP experience. He took us to a Vietnamese lunch Pho which we really enjoyed. To top it off He treated us to the world famous egg coffee. The service was beyond our expectations. We like again to Thank Tourguide Qui and the driver Vinh for an exceptional service

5.00Huy WhatsApped me prior to explain we needed to catch a shuttle bus to the port gate and he would be there with a sign with my name on. He picked us up with our driver Dong, both were really friendly. We drove into Ho Chi Minh and went to all of the main highlights, we had beef Pho in a hot stone bowl for lunch, wow tasted fantastic. We went to the war memorial, it put us to shame as we hardly knew the details of the Vietnam war, wow it was brutal. We had an egg coffee and egg cocoa which were delicious and we ended up at the market as my hubby wanted coffee beans to take home! Overall great day and great guide and driver.

5.00My guide Mr Thuc aka Mr Castle was an excellent guide. His English is very good and his knowledge of Vietnamese history is very impressive. He was very informative and used historical photographs to better depict the then and now of the Vietnamese war and subsequent changes to the city. We visited all the key sights in a comprehensive day tour of Ho chi Minh city. Definately would recommend Mr Thuc.

5.00Evelyn and her driver, Liem, provided us with a wonderful tour of a beautiful city. (Kudos to Liem on his driving - we would not want to drive here!) Evelyn's communication and organization skills made the tour very relaxed and enjoyable. The restaurant she chose for lunch was very delicious, and the visit to the oldest coffee shop was a real treat. Evelyn provided an excellent experience, and we would highly recommend this tour!

5.00We hit the jackpot when we were assigned Captain Bruno as our excursion guide. Captain Bruno was very knowledgeable, spoke excellent english and was very friendly and did not rush us. It was a very enjoyable excursion getting to see Saigon's main Post Office, The war museum, a couple other stops and then we even got a chance to eat at a local place. While at the Post Office Captain Bruno overheard my wife asking me to buy her a postcard, when I replied, I didn't have any vietnamese money, cat and bruno stepped up and loaned me the equivalent of twelve u s dollars. Later at our last stop, my wife asked me to buy her a couple pastries and when I replied to her that I was about fifty cents short Captain Bruno once again stepped up and made up the difference. What a great day and tour guide we had.

5.00I highly recommend this tour and Kain as a guide. We booked this tour as a shore excursion. The communication ahead of the tour was excellent. The instructions for the meeting location were clear and our guide, Kain, found us quickly when we arrived by shuttle from the ship at the port gate. The drive to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) was an hour and a half. During that time, Kain provided an abundance of information about the history, culture and people of Saigon. The time for the tour was a little shorter than originally planned because the ship was leaving a little earlier. Kain helped us select the options that were of most interest to us. We really packed a lot of sights into the day. He was conscious of the time and kept things moving so that we would be able to see as much as possible. We also really appreciated that he took us to local places rather than to heavily touristed spots for lunch (Chicken Pho) and for a Vietnamese egg coffee. Both were outstanding and memorable. Kain’s English was excellent. Our driver was also excellent and he navigated the traffic safely and conscientiously. I was in awe of how he was able to maneuver through the congestion. We were a little nervous about the time returning to the ship because of heavy traffic on the way back, but we made it with about half an hour to spare. It was well worth it to see Saigon as a private tour rather than with a group. We were able to see so much in the time we had and appreciated being able to customize the tour to our interests.

5.00Great trip with an exceptional guide. Liam was very knowledgeable about Vietnam…very important me because I lived growing with Vietnam on my TV. He took us to everywhere we wanted to go plus additional sights he thought we should see. We experienced the food and culture. Liam was very protective of us as we crossed busy streets and in the markets. Two people on our trip have slight leg issues. He made sure the transport was near and easy to access. In summery, I can’t recommend this trip enough…EXCELLENT!
