What To Expect
Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Saigon Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

5.00This was truly a memorable experience! It exceeded my expectations in every way! Hani was an amazing guide and so kind. She started communicating with me days before the tour and wanted to see what we were interested in and ensuring that we were able to meet at a good time and location. Once we started we didn’t stop! Jade Emporer Temple Central Post Office Opera House The city hall building Reunification Palace War remnants museum Another temple in china town Then there were the markets! Local book market, flower market, food market, fruit market, and the large main market. We walked and learned so much about, not only Ho Chi Minh City, but the country of Vietnam as a whole. Hani was up for making great suggestions and teaching us even more than what was at each location. This was totally custom and unique for us! I highly recommend this and if you can get Hani as a guide!

5.00Great day discovering Ho Chi Minh alongside our tour guide Barney. He made this day epic, taking us to the touristic side of the city, but also to more local places. One of my highlights was Cafe Cheo Leo: authentic and delicious Vietnamese coffee! Highly recommended specially if you’re on a cruise and have few hours to discover the city :)

5.00Thy (Dorothy) was very pleasant & excellent. they were on time & provided a nice air conditioned vehicle. She took us anywhere we wanted to go even if it was different than the itinerary. She even treated us to Boba Tea at her expense 🫶🏼She provided excellent knowledge on South Vietnam as we were visiting different locations. The driver was the real VIP! Vietnam traffic was like NO OTHER but he navigated well & was very cautious. This dynamic duo definitely got an AAA+++

5.00Really good tour. Vincent was fantastic very knowledgeable and helpful. We had a driver as well (Mr Quoc), very good since it is challenging to drive in Ho Chi Minh!! Overall highly recommend this tour. If you are coming by cruise ship, a private tour is the only way to go. Just do it!!

His attention to detail truly set him apart, and he made us feel like we were being shown around by a close friend. We’re already looking forward to bringing our family back. Our driver Phuc was also fantastic, expertly navigating the constant flow of motor scooters with ease.
