This hiking tour is hands down the best way to experience the best fall colors in all of southern California. It's hard to know where to hike in Big Bear Lake in the fall to find the best fall colors; Go with Big Bear Lake's expert hiking guide to find the best leaf-peeping experience. This is an amazing outdoor experience for nature lovers and those who love to take scenic photos. We will hike up a scenic locals-only trail underneath the yellow and orange oak trees, perhaps even trying local wild berries along the way, seasonably available. There is no better way to expiernce the crisp fall days in this mountain community than out on these hiking trails.
*I can make the hike kid-friendly if you bring the family.
*All of my experiences are always dog-friendly; Please bring your furry friends!
*If you love to take photos this is the best place to get great leaf-peeping photos in all of southern California.

What To Expect
Big Bear Lake
I would love for you to join me on a Big Bear local's fall colors hike! I'll meet my guests at one of a few different scenic autumn colors areas. In October & early November the fall colors are just so epic throughout the Big Bear Valley. I love to share my favorite secret trails with visitors, along with some Big Bear history & tales of what life in Big Bear is like. Wherever the fall colors are peaking on that particular day, I will lead you up the leave-covered trail & into the oak forest where you can trek through the fall colors. Most of these hikes do go uphill so it's not classified as an easy hike but if you are a beginning hiker or have kids joining us we can hike at a slow pace; Whatever pace you prefer, after all, it is your hiking experience. All these trails have amazing views of Big Bear Lake as you climb higher into the forest. We will hike as many or as few miles as you would like. I will show you a few other great photo opportunities along the way.

5.00We had a great hike near Big Bear Lake with Amber Holloway to see the amazing Fall colors. Amber did a great job picking a hike with the right combination of technical challenges and beautiful scenery including amazing Fall colors and Big Bear Lake. She patiently answered all my questions and pointed out many interesting sites on the hike. She tailors the hike to the participants' abilities and interests so it should be great for everyone from serious hikers to families with kids and grandparents. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Southern California.

5.00Amber has the advantage as she was born and raised in the area. She knows and has hiked these trails for years with guests, or just out with her dog enjoying nature and the changing seasons. She leads tours all year round and is able to customize hikes according to your skill level. Her knowledge of local history and plants along the trails is great and brings an added dimension to an outdoor experience. She is always on time and is both kind, sensitive to her guests needs for periodic breaks and conversational along the way. I would highly recommend her for a short or long hike, easy or moderate.

5.00Amber really knows the mountains! She’s very friendly and very informative. She has lived in the mountains almost her whole life. Turns out all of the hiking trails around Big Bear are closed due to the Line fire recently in Running Springs. We did not know that and we were lucky enough to book with Amber who knew where there were some hiking trails open for us to take a nice two hour hike. Otherwise we would have not had any idea where to go or how to do a hike. The hike was a good pace however she knew where to stop for some good photo opportunities and a break here and there to grab some water. We got to see many of the leaves changing although she says it’s better mid October and we were the first weekend in November. I highly recommend her and her tour. Her tours are dog friendly and family friendly as well. !!

5.00If you're visiting big bear and you want to see some fall colors Amber's hike is absolutely the way to do it. She took me to the best spots with beautiful golden trees that I never would have found on my own. I took so many pictures, it was so beautiful. And besides knowing the best spots Amber knows all about the plants and animals and history of the area and talking with her makes the hike so much more immersive and memorable. I highly recommend this hike with Amber!
