This tour takes about two to three hours, but we’ll have an opportunity for an hour-long detour partway through if you want to extend your journey. It will lead to the remains of a historic village by the Rio Grande and a hot springs hiking trail. I’ll give you a heads up once we get close. Big Bend National Park's entrance station, located near Alpine, Texas, serves as the primary gateway to this expansive and rugged national park. The entrance station itself is a modest structure, often featuring a small building with a rustic design that blends harmoniously with the surrounding desert landscape. Visitors are greeted with a sign marking the entrance to the park, typically bearing the park’s name and emblem.

After a quick lunch we head with our cars to this Park where we admire very different rocks from each other, several cacti up to the Rio Grande river where we descend to make some oto. If you cross the river on the other side you are in Mexican territory, someone with a stick tried to go there.

We loved the narrative given through out the park. Great information about the history, ranchers and presidents, nasa people who visited. Love the information on the formation of rocks. Would definitely do a guide like this again

The audio tour was amazing! We loved the background stories that we would never have known otherwise! Loved how the narrator tells us to “turn if you’d like” to see something or continue on. Each narration picked up as we approached. Would definitely recommend this. Very good price for having our very own docent!

We only had 2 nights in Big Bend and this audio tour was very helpful in directing us to significant sites. Worked well in car and hooked up to Car Play.

We really enjoyed the guided tour. It gave us lots of history and information throughout the drive. I was surprised how well it kept up with our location even without cell service. I would definitely recommend the tour and use it again.

Lots of driving to get to this park entrance then lots more driving. Would have been nice to have brochures with maps of park. All 6 visitor centers were closed when we arrived. Four visitors centers were not open this time of year. Website gave incorrect hours for a visitor center. We arrived only to find it was closed before posted closing time. Beautiful drive with places to pull out for photos. Only down side was lodging. Long drive back to Alpine for food and lodging. Border patrol check point on exit of park. Would be nice to have maps of park outside the closed visitor centers as limited cell phone coverage so difficult to navigate from phones.
