While this is a good "hop on, hop off" bus, the useful/historical/interesting information provided in the headsets is minimal.

We chose the green route as having visited HK numerous times had never explored the south side HK Island. We were staying on Kowloon side and headed to the Star Ferry Pier to exchange our voucher at the Big Bus kiosk on the 1st floor directly in front of where the barriers are to board the ferry. Start point is at the bus station 2 min walk from ferry exit. There is another big bus kiosk as you exit the ferry if you’re unsure as to where to go. The bus departed promptly to which we plugged in our provided headphones to listen to the quirky commentary, which I quite enjoyed. Our highlights were Stanley with a nice market, some cultural attractions and nice bars on the seafront, and repulse bay with the beaches and funky restaurants also on the seafront. I’d highly recommend the green route if you’re already familiar with Central and Kowloon areas. It hard to believe whilst sat on the beach that there’s a bustling city 30 mins away. I’d also recommend downloading the Big Bus app so you can track the buses on the route and time your arrival, if the driver doesn’t see anyone at the stop they will just drive on. It’s worth noting that it’s reliant on GPS updates so won’t be 100% accurate. We nearly got caught out at one stop. I’m hoping to return to this amazing city, to which I’ll probably look at doing one of the other routes. It’s a great way to explore and learn about the city as you go.

The big bus tour was great, we did the Red, Green and Blue route with the return ferry. Would certainly recommend this tour, especially if you have limited time in Hong Kong.

Descriptions and staff were great. A bit confusing getting to the stop at Kowloon. Long waits between buses at Kowloon

3 different routes that show you 3 different to sides to Hong Kong. Definitely worth the money. We bought the 48hr pass and did the red and green line the first day (and included the Peak Tram) then did the blue line the next day. You will see sides of Hong Kong you never realised existed.
