  • Decent enough

Feel a bit challenged about rating this tour - so, I’ll start with the positives. Firstly, the busses seemed in plentiful supply (late May) and it was easy to catch one and see where to next hop back on. The commentary was good although could’ve been a little louder. The sights list was thorough and stops were explained and their connections to other transport / visits explored. Price was good for the areas covered, and the flexibility. On the negative side - the first two of our drivers were, quite frankly, miserable and non-communicative. There were lots of people getting on with us and we didn’t see the headphones or the maps that we should’ve picked up - so we had to return, thus risking losing our hard fought for seats. Everyone got on and began piling upstairs, before being told by someone sitting on the top step (out of sight till you were 3/4 of the way up the stairs) in a gruff voice “no room up here!” Everyone had to reverse back down, at every single stop. Why there wasn’t a friendly face at the bottom of the stairs - as in someone from the company - I don’t know (well, I guess having a person there would reduce profits, so I guess its that). It kinda needed a person as kids were messing around and, also, someone had a UV umbrella up, partially blocking the view from the open top. The headphones were a bit too quiet even on the loudest volume (and I am not even hearing impaired, but the outside environment was very busy and noisy, so it was a little hard to hear, at times). Overall, the tours are decent but could definitely be improved upon - especially needing a more friendly feel - even if just a driver who seemed welcoming, and who guided people to maps and headphones with just a flick of the wrist. I appreciate how busy these busses are, and the huge city area covered, but friendliness and manners cost nothing.

  • Tight hard seats, more music than informative commentary.

More cartoonish than adult desired content. Hard seats, tight spacing on noisy older buses. Too much repetitive music than helpful informative commentary.

Easiest way to get around London . Tour is informative and done. Not the most comfortable seats but gets the job done

  • We did this our first...

We did this our first afternoon London as a way to understand the city and decide where to go and what to see. It was a perfect tour and hit, I believe, most of the highlights of the City.

  • Don’t use during a Tube strike

Evening bus tour was great, but traffic was so terrible due to a strike of many Tube lines, the day tour was more like hop on and never get off. Not the fault of if Bus but disappointing nevertheless.

  • Awful!! Use other tours instead

Booked the big bus tour based on the routes available and it was appalling! Went to get on behind Buckingham Palace and were told that the stop was closed and we had to keep walking for the next one. Went to the next stop and was told it was closed and to go to Victoria for the next one and there was a broken down bus there (should have known at that point) Got to Victoria and waited 45 mins then 3 buses turned up. No rep at the stop and it was carnage with everyone who had been sent up to get on and people pushing and queue jumping. Another company’s rep was trying to organise everyone Drove past Hyde Park corner to see 3 empty buses sat there with no drivers in sight. Got off at Harrods and when we went to get on on the next bus it was full so decided after spending more time waiting than we did sight seeing to give up and got the tube to where we wanted to go Other companies that were running had more frequent buses and did the same thing

  • Very late at every stop

This bus was never on time. We stood in the rain over 45- an hour. We finally got on around 3. We should have started around 10. We missed all the attractions since we had to be off by 5 so we could get to a play. The audio recording was just 90% music. I was hoping for more history. I’m going to be asking for a refund

Hopping on and off the London Big Bus is a great way to travel and see the sights of London. We went on a Thames River Cruise too, which was also a good way to do some sightseeing.

We just have one day to see London. This was a great experience with Big Bus, very clean bus and so professional people.

This solution, despite being used in several other cities, was not the best for London, certainly due to the company we turned to. The buses are very slow, and the audio guide's comments are truly nonsensical: mere curiosities and music, but no historical references or concrete information about what we are seeing. Additionally, a couple of times while we were waiting at the stop, the app showed us that the buses were changing direction... and this made us opt for other means of transportation. In the end, with a 48-hour ticket, we only got on the bus once. Instead, we did the walking tour with EMMA, who was truly fantastic.
