What To Expect

nzbiketrails luxury shuttle will pick you up from Wanaka and transport you to Hawea. We will provide an overview of the route, safety briefing and a test ride to ensure that your bike is comfortable for you with the right seat height. You will then have the rest of the day to explore the local area on your bike and make stops on the way back to Wanaka. Our favourite stop is the patisserie in Albert Town – an award-winning bakery. On arrival in Wanaka nzbiketrails will then pick up your bikes at the original pickup location by 4pm. Our e-bikes are suitable for Children 8 years+ who are over 140cm and are confident riders capable of using gears on a bike. This had to be one of my favorite days during our two weeks on the South Island. The weather was spectacular and there is no better way to see Wanaka than on a bike. The trail was varied and easily done with our electric supported bike. We had great directions and loved the stop at the bakery for lunch. Unfortunately a couple in our group had some issues and it was no problem for an early pickup. If you are hesitant on narrow trails you may want to stop at the bakery and get a pickup since the last half of the trek is more narrow. I loved every bit of it and would do it again.

Scenic ride along gravel trail. Great, thoughtful host. Some mountain-biking experience helpful but trail is basically just rolling hills along crystal blue river and lake

Beautiful bike ride!! Excellent bikes. David the owner drove us and the bikes to the start of the track. His instructions on how to use the bikes was super helpful. It was stunning biking along the lakes and rivers. Unfortunately it was too cool to swim but on a hot sunny day it would be perfect to stop and swim.

Fantastic views and great bikes. Really good instruction on the route and back up from James. If you’re not used to cycling far then opt for an e-bike. Great trails, a bit challenging in places.
